The goals of the proposed 9-mile, limited-access facility include providing for additional east-west capacity within the project area, enhancing mobility of the area’s growing population and economy, relieving congestion on local roads, providing for the incorporation of transit options and promoting regional connectivity. The study re-evaluation examined engineering, estimated project costs, and evaluated all alternatives and their potential impacts to the physical, natural, social and cultural environment. The study determined that the project is viable and fundable in accordance with CFX policies and procedures.
