Kingdom Hearts«-Komponistin Yoko Shimomura Kommt Zu Beiden »Symphonic Fantasies - Music from Square Enix«-Konzerten PRESSEMELDUNG SYMPHONIC FANTASIES (02.07.2009) »KINGDOM HEARTS«-KOMPONISTIN YOKO SHIMOMURA KOMMT ZU BEIDEN »SYMPHONIC FANTASIES - MUSIC FROM SQUARE ENIX«-KONZERTEN KÖLN, 02.07.2009: »Ich bin überglücklich, dass meine Musik in zwei Konzerten aufgeführt wird«, freut sich Yoko Shimomura, die bei den »Symphonic Fantasies - music from SQUARE ENIX«-Veranstaltungen in Oberhausen und in Köln persönlich anwesend sein wird. »Bereits im letzten Jahr habe ich zusammen mit dem WDR Rundfunkorchester an meinem CD-Album gearbeitet. Es ist wirklich eine große Ehre für mich, die Musik nun gemeinsam mit meinen Fans hören zu können - live!«. Am 11. und am 12. September 2009 präsentieren die über 120 Musiker des WDR Rundfunkorchesters Köln und des WDR Rundfunkchors Köln »Symphonic Fantasies« unter der Leitung des Grammy-Preisträgers Arnie Roth. Gewidmet sind die Veranstaltungen der japanischen Firma Square Enix, einem der weltweit führenden Hersteller von Unterhaltungssoftware. Klassiker aus »Final Fantasy«, »Chrono Trigger«, »Chrono Cross«, »Kingdom Hearts« und »Secret of Mana« werden exklusiv für »Symphonic Fantasies« neu arrangiert. Vielseitig begabte Komponistin Yoko Shimomura studiert Musik in Osaka mit Hauptfach Klavier. Nach ihrem Abschluss 1988 entscheidet sie sich überraschend für eine Karriere als Komponistin in der Spielebranche. Mit Soundtracks zu »Street Fighter II«, »Live A Live« oder »Super Mario RPG« macht sie sich schnell einen Namen. In ihren Soundtracks zur »Kingdom Hearts«-Reihe wird Yoko Shimomuras umfassendes musikalisches Wissen besonders hörbar. Für diese Serie hat sie bekannte Disney-Melodien behutsam neu arrangiert und mit eigenen Themen verknüpft, eingängige Popsongs mit komplexer sinfonischer Musik kombiniert und nicht zuletzt die Herzen von fast sechs Millionen Spielerinnen und Spielern erreicht. Square Enix hat ihre besten Werke 2008 mit dem Album »drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura« geehrt, aufgenommen vom WDR Rundfunkorchester. Weitere Tickets für Köln, Zusatzveranstaltung in Oberhausen Innerhalb kürzester Zeit waren die Tickets für »Symphonic Fantasies - music from SQUARE ENIX« am 12. September in der Kölner Philharmonie ausverkauft. Aufgrund der anhaltend großen Nachfrage hat sich der WDR Köln dazu entschlossen, eine beschränkte Anzahl zusätzlicher Karten für die Veranstaltung freizugeben. Back when Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy III US) was released the game was heavily toned down, censoring graphics and the like. When it was re-released for the Playstation, the graphics were uncensored but toned down script remained. Then came Final Fantasy VI Advance with a newer (though some consider drier) translation, but the color palette and music were altered for the handheld console. Others have made re-translations, such as the great work by RPGOne, Lina Darkstar, and Kwhazit. Now this is Final Fantasy VI: Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition. The goal was to make the SNES version uncut and to clean up the script but keep the nuance used by Woolsey in the original game’s release. Using the original Woolsey script as a basis to analyze, the entire game was looked through, line by line, using FFVI Advance, RPGOne, and Lina Darkstar to accomplish this. Recently, the game’s script was also heavily analyzed by Kwhazit and Mato (Legends of Localization). With these newer and more heavily detailed looks into the game, the script was again updated to provide a much more accurate version while still remaining true to the original game’s release. Also used was various tools and patches to uncensor the graphics, restore Character Class names, extend spell names, rename monsters and items, and make hopefully the version of Final Fantasy VI that everyone will play. Any bug fixes or additions that were used were chosen not for any balance changes, but to fix persistent issues in the game, as to not change the experience of the original too much.
