Inks are your friend here to saturate a small plastic mixing receptacle and an old brush (anything between a 0 and a 2 works well for me). Don’t slap the glue straight onto the base – this often leads to the “quicksand” syndrome where the model seems to be sinking straight into the base (this happens when the model is stuck to the base before basing is applied. Put some of the glue in the mixing receptacle and add some water and mix. You are aiming for the consistency of thick milk, this will enable you to get a good coating on the base without it becoming overly thick or running all over the place. If you are gluing larger objects the glue should be thicker and with pieces of slate etc. the glue should not be thinned at all. Once the glue is on dip the base into your basing medium of choice and tap lightly to remove the excess, wipe the rim of the base clear to prevent an uneven edge and to keep it neat (unless you are aiming for messy?). If you’re are applying more than one basing medium wait until the previous layer is completely dry before applying the next layer.

When preparing the base keep in mind that the model still has to fit on the base afterwards so make sure that there are space for the feet/claws/ paws/flippers etc. that has to fit on the base and that that lovely slate rock you’ve stuck to the edge of scissors will do wonders when cutting curves in styrene. First thing off the bat that I would like to say if BUT WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU AT THAT Zoanthropes are awesome now with their ability to you’re an existing Tyranids player your either going COST WITHOUT ANY WEAPONS! Sure they may make even the toughest Land Raider seem like a to love the new codex or hate it! If you are new to have been under priced before but this is WAY piece of confetti with their str10 lance! Couple that Tyranids however you going to think they are great over the top. What’s worse is you CANT give them with the fact that they can deep strike in a pod but if you been playing them for a while like me you 2+ save even if you wanted to which makes them behind your tanks with a 3+ invulnerable save and going to want to say something like “Is this a new much easier to kill. Trygon with 6 wounds can now be easily killed with also has a str X gun that is 24in range (Str equal to a force weapon and how is that balanced?
