The Enumclaw School District Board of Directors is seeking individuals to serve on the Superintendent Interview Advisory Panel on January 30 and 31, 2007, starting at 4:00 p.m., in the school district boardroom. While school board members will be conducting the inter- views, each member of the Interview Advisory Panel will have the opportunity to listen and individually reflect on each candidate's responses. The input you provide will help the board select three finalist candidates to return for final interviews. For the school board to gain the best possible information about each candidate, panelists must be able to attend both days of interviews.

The Board of Directors has asked various community groups, including parent groups at each school, to nominate representatives to the panel. Board members will then select up to five additional members from community members indicating an interest in serving to complete the panel. Community members interested in being considered for inclusion on the Interview Advisory Panel should obtain an application form at the district office and/or contact Gerrie Garton (phone: 360.802.7105) or email [email protected]) by January 15, 2007. The school board will review all candidates and will attempt to appoint 12 to 15 community members who represent a balance of viewpoints and interests. All candidates will be notified of their selection or non-selection by January 25, 2007. If selected, panel members need to arrive at 3:30 p.m. for the orientation prior to the interview that will begin at 4:00 p.m. There will be three to four interviews each day, with the last interview ending at approximately 10:00 p.m. A light dinner will be provided both evenings. any people think they just clean M floors and bathrooms. That is a huge misconception. Their job encom- passes much more than that. They also are called to clean up after sick or injured chil- dren or, if a ball, shoe, or a coat gets on the roof, they are called upon to retrieve it. If a large supply order arrives at the school, they are asked to assist with unloading and putting away the supplies. For lunchtime they put down tables before lunch, assist with dirty trays, clean up floors and gar- bage, and put the tables away after lunch. They are also responsible for safety upkeep of the playground equipment and making sure that the ground surfaces are safe. The campus grounds are kept tidy by the custo- dians’ daily patrolling. If a roof leaks or a window is broken, they handle the details to make sure repairs are made, and do tem- porary fixes until repairs can be completed. They also are the climate control managers of the buildings. Maybe a better question would be, “What don’t they do?” It’s much more than you can even imagine.
