How about now? 16 VOICES: Better. 17 THE HEARING OFFICER: Can you 18 turn the mic up a little? 19 A VOICE: Sure. 20 A VOICE: Start at the top. 21 THE HEARING OFFICER: How about I 22 start at the bottom and go backwards. 23 I've been asked by the New York 24 State Urban Development Corporation, doing business 25 as Empire State Development, ESD, and the Brooklyn MGR REPORTING, INC., 1-844-MGR-RPTG 419 Lafayette Street, 2nd Floor, New York, New York 10003 626 RXR Plaza, West Tower, 6th Floor, Uniondale, New York 11556 1 9 2 Bridge Development Corporation, BBPDC, a subsidiary 3 of ESD, to serve as the independent Hearing Officer 4 for tonight's public hearing, which is being held 5 pursuant to Section 16 of the New York State Urban 6 Development Corporation Act. 7 My purpose is to run the hearing 8 in a fair and impartial manner and to try to make 9 sure that everyone who wishes to speak has an 10 opportunity to be heard. 11 I would like to note for the 12 record that Directors from both Empire State 13 Development and Brooklyn Bridge Park Development 14 Corporation are in attendance this evening. 15 This hearing will consider a 16 proposed Modification of the Modified General 17 Project Plan for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Civic and 18 Land Use Improvement Project regarding the 19 development parcel located in the Project Pier 6 20 Uplands. 21 The purpose of this hearing is to: 22 1. Inform the public about the 23 proposed Modifications to the Modified General 24 Project Plan for the project regarding the 25 development parcel located at the Project's Pier 6 MGR REPORTING, INC., 1-844-MGR-RPTG 419 Lafayette Street, 2nd Floor, New York, New York 10003 626 RXR Plaza, West Tower, 6th Floor, Uniondale, New York 11556 1 10 2 Uplands; and 3 2. Pursuant to Section 16 of the 4 UDC Act, give all interested persons an opportunity 5 to be heard with respect to consideration by ESD 6 and BBPDC of the proposed Modification to the 7 Modified General Project Plan regarding the 8 development parcel located at the Project's Pier 6 9 Uplands. 10 This is not a question and answer 11 session. It is, instead, an opportunity for you to 12 present your views so that ESD and BBPDC can 13 consider them in making their final determinations 14 regarding the proposed modifications. 15 Copies of the current Modified 16 General Project Plan and the proposed Modification 17 thereto, that is the subject of this hearing, are 18 available at no charge on the table outside of this 19 auditorium.
