These are historical cities where various communities hve harmoniously together since many years. The 11' parks and the auto components hubs are established in the part o f these cities.The industrial development o f Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad and its environs covers a span of last sixty years. The Pune Region has come into existence on 7th July 1967 and contains four prominent industrial growth areas. The north west o f the city comprising Chinchwad and its environs, the eastern part o f the city comprising lladpsar. Loni-kalbhor and Mundhwa. the north -eastern part comprising lirandwana. Paud road and Kothrud. Out o f these areas. Chinchw'ad and its environs is most prominent in development of industries in the region. The area contains a number of large, medium and small-scale units.' In 1916-17 City Development Act was made applicable to Pune and development of the city started slowly. Website: www.neptjournal.com The present investigation has been evaluate the water quality by physico-chemical parameters of dam water of Jangamhatti, Distt. Kolhapur for a period of one year water samples were collected from various places Received: 25/7/2011 of dam. The parameters analysed includes temperature, pH, transparency turbidity, total dissolved solids, Accepted: 24/9/2011 conductivity, dissolved oxygen, free CO2 , alkalinity, chloride, total hardness and BOD. It lies between 15°43' and 17°17* north latitude and 73°40' and 74°42’ east longitude. Administratively, it is bordered by Sangli district and also by river Warana which form the natural boundary to the north' Belgaum district of Karnataka state to the east and south and Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg to the west. Abstract: An attempt has been made in this paper to study the distribution and periodicity of the (weekly) market centers in the Pune District. Market centers are the basic and root level center of the economic and commercial activities. In various fields of Geography, Economic geography has experienced remarkable changes within the past thirty years resulting in diverse specialized branches such as geography of agriculture, industry, transportation marketing etc. All these branches are related to the study of great variations on the earth’s surface in means economic activities. Marketing is a part of human beings economic activity it deals with the marketing activity. Economic geography has considerable attention on the study of resources and factors of production associated with market places and marketing. Marketing Geography is a branch of economic Geography which seeks a specialized study of marketing places and marketing. Marketing Geography deals with the application of the Geographical principles, methods and techniques to the practical problems related to the marketing phenomena.
