So-Cal: A Graduate Introspective is a comprehensive exhibition which features works from a talented group of graduate students from Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, Claremont Graduate University, University of California, Irvine and University of California,

Riverside. Featuring a stunning variety of mediums, you will not want to miss this energizing exhibition. Come and see this show before it closes on March 2, 2012.

2nd ANNUAL PERFECT PAIRING WINE TASTING Sip divine wine, sample succulent foods and explore inspirational art at the Perfect Pair Wine Tasting event, hosted by the City of Brea Art Gallery and the Curtis Theatre. Set against the backdrop of the So-Cal: A Graduate Introspective art exhibit, you will receive a five- taste sampler from a variety wines with the option of selecting your favorite for a full pour. You can't have a wine- tasting event without food, and five local restaurants will be providing a food pairing to accompany each wine. THE JOHN JORGENSON QUINTET Travel the World with The John Jorgenson Quintet. Walk the streets of 1930s Paris, be transported to Greece, Latin America and back home with the jazz sounds of The John Jorgenson Quintet at the Curtis Theatre on February 25. Shows are at 5:00pm and 8:00 pm.

Grammy winner, John Jorgenson and his quintet will enthrall audiences with original "gypsy jazz," the dynamic, string-driven swing created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Known as the founding member of the Desert Rose Band, revered for his dazzling fret work with the super-trio The Hellecasters, John Jorgenson is well-regarded in the music industry as a master of the guitar. In this show, virtuosic guitar, clarinet, violin, bousouki, bass, vocals and percussion take center stage in an upbeat, luxuriant evening of live music. www.johnjorgenson.com

UPCOMING ART WORKSHOPS

ADULT OIL PAINTING: Enjoy learning the fundamentals of oil painting by attending one of our Oil Painting Workshops for Adults. In each of these 3-day workshops, students will learn how to paint a specific type of still life, subject matter or landscape. Each class focuses on the foundation of beginning and intermediate painting such as color theory, color mixing, and painting techniques. A focus on texture, value and reflective qualities will also be emphasized. All skill levels are welcome; individual attention will be given to each student. The paints used for this workshop are non-toxic, water-mixable oil paints. All materials, supplies and canvas are included in the $85 fee. Classes are held in the City of Brea Art Gallery in the Brea Civic and Cultural Center. Instructor: Daryl Gortner. Ages 14 and up are welcome.
