Thursday, July 26th, Concert: Paul Simon, Festning - Koengen, Bergen Paul Simon has scheduled a total of nine concerts in Europe this summer and we can finally confirm that one of them will take place on Bergen Fortress - Koengen. Tuesday, August 14th, Concert: Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester & Violinist Janine Jansen, Grieghallen, Bergen Praise comes easily when describing the Dutch violinist Janine Jansen. While visiting Bergen, Janine will perform the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski`s first and Impressionist-inspired concerto from 1916. Thursday, August 16th, Concert: The Prodigy, Bergenhus Festning - Plenen, Bergen While 80's hard rock heroes and their high hairstyles were about to be swept to the sidelines, The Prodigy took riffs and meshed them with a seething mix of rave and industrial techno. The result was pumping and punk inspired electro-rock that made people go crazy on the dance floors. In addition, Tine Thing Helseth will be the soloist in Henri Tomasis’ “Trumpet Concerto”. Saturday, August 25th, Concert: Kent, Bergenhus Festning - Plenen, Bergen Scandinavia's biggest rock band is ready for Plenen on Saturday, August 25th. Saturday, September 1st to Saturday, September 8th, Edvard Grieg Competition, Troldhaugen, Bergen The Edvard Grieg Museum has the great pleasure of inviting pianists from all over the world to the 13th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition 2012. 30 pianists between the ages of 17 and 32 will be selected to compete. The first three rounds of the competition will be held at Troldhaugen, Grieg’s picturesque and well- preserved home set on a hill overlooking Lake Nordås.
