This book is dedicated solely to America’s youth football community and its 3 million players. Shaped and assembled with the support and direction of our 10-member Rules Committee, comprised of youth league commissioners and game officials from all eight USA Football regions, this book is the result of more than four years of research (USA Football’s Rules Committee is introduced on page 7). Among the ideas voiced during more than 150 USA Football State Leadership Forums since 2007 has been the need for a youth football- specific rule book. This publication further unifies America’s favorite sport on its grassroots level and fosters fair play through easy-to-understand diagrams, tips and graphics to introduce and explain rules, sportsmanship, player wellness and more. This edition also includes the most common youth football rule modifications from the National Federation of State High School Association’s rule book. The independent nonprofit is the official youth football development partner of the NFL, its 32 teams and the NFL Players Association.     Wamego Recreation Department 6 on 6 2020 Flag Football Rules 1. PLAYER ELGIBILITY Six (6) players on defense and seven (7) on offense. The quarterback may not advance the ball. 2. PLAYING FIELD The field will be 60 yards long and 30 yards wide. The field will be divided into two zones of ten yards (end zones), and two zones of 20 yards each. 3. TIME LIMIT There will be two (2) 20-minute halves with clock stopping under normal rule and regulations during the last minute of each half and a five (5) minute half time. If the last play of the half or the game ends with a penalty being accepted, one more untimed play will be added. 4. TIME OUTS One (1) 1-minute time out per half will be allowed. 5. GAME START The winner of the toss shall have the privilege of selecting one of the following options: • The ball first • Defend the choice of goals The team losing the toss shall have the choice of options at the start of the second half. 6. SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions may be made only when the ball is not in play and the official is aware of the substitution. Sleeper plays will not be permitted. 7. THE GAME The team on offense is given four (4) downs to reach midfield. The team then has four (4) more downs to reach the opponents end zone. Failure to do so results in the defensive team taking over the ball from their own five (5) yard line. Every new possession will begin at your own five (5) yard line.

    by Jim Ridgeway George McAfee takes a handoff from Sid Luckman (1947). Ironton, a small city in Southern Ohio, is known throughout the state for its high school football program. Coach Bob Lutz, head coach at Ironton High School since 1972, has won more football games than any coach in Ohio high school history. Ironton High School has been a regular in the state football playoffs since the tournament’s inception in 1972, with the school winning state titles in 1979 and 1989. Long before the hiring of Bob Lutz and the outstanding title teams of 1979 and 1989, Ironton High School fielded what might have been the greatest gridiron squad in school history. This nearly-forgotten Tiger squad was coached by a man who would become an assistant coach with the Cleveland Browns, general manager of the Buffalo Bills and the second director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The squad featured three brothers, two of which would become NFL players, in its starting eleven. One of the brothers would earn All-Ohio, All-American and All-Pro honors before his enshrinement in Canton, Ohio. This story is a tribute to the greatest player in Ironton High School football history, his family, his high school coach and the 1935 Ironton High School gridiron squad. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the undefeated and untied Ironton High School football team featuring three players with the last name of McAfee. It was Ironton High School’s first perfect football season, and the school would not see another such gridiron season until 1978.

Teams may use their own ball. ➢ Players may use gloves, towels, sweat bands, etc. ➢ No jewelry is allowed. ➢ QB Tees will only be available to use during games. Field Dimensions & Locations ➢ All games will be held at an OKCPS high school game or practice field. ➢ Fields will be made up zones that are 30 yards in length plus 10 yards for the end zone. ➢ 1 game will take place on each side of the stadium with 2 games going on at once. Teams & Games ➢ Teams may consist of 7-16 players. ➢ A team must have at least 5 players to compete. If a team has less than 5 at official game time then forfeit will occur. ➢ Games will last forty (40) minutes with a running clock. Referees can stop the clock at their discretion. There is a five (5) minute halftime break at the twentieth (20) minute mark. Each team will get two (2) one (1) minute timeouts per half. Possession of the ball will change after half. ➢ If the score is tied at the end of the game, the game is over and declared a tie. During the playoffs, if the game is tied with no time left, then each team will have a chance with the ball placed at the 10 yard line and 4 downs.

    PPRD FLAG FOOTBALL 7V7 RULES GAME CLOCK FORMAT: Each game is played in two 20-minute halves. A running clock format is used except for the final two minutes of each half. The clock will stop on out-of-bounds, first downs, change of possession, extra points and incomplete passes in the final two minutes of the half. Each team receives two, 60-second time outs per half. (No carry over) Mercy Rule- If a team is up by 20 points with 2-minutes to go in the game, the clock will run. SCORING: Touchdowns = 6 points Safety = 2 points Extra Points = 5 yards out = 1 point; 12 yards out = 2 points DRIVES: There are no kickoffs Drives begin on the 5-yard line at the beginning of each half. Turnovers via interceptions and downs will be spotted at where the ball is down. Drives consist of four plays to either make a first down or score a touchdown. Interceptions may be run back and the drive will begin where the player’s flag is pulled. Extra points CAN be returned and will ALWAYS count as 2-points, even if the team was going for a 1- point conversion (1 & 2 point extra points only). SNAPPING THE BALL: The ball must be snapped between the legs. Each time the ball is spotted a team has 30 seconds to snap the ball. A five-yard penalty will be assessed for delay of game. RUNNING PLAYS: There is no limit to the number of handoffs made behind the line of scrimmage. Player must be lined up behind the line of scrimmage.

    BLOOD BOWL BLOOD BOWL COMPETITION RULES This rules pack contains a set of alternative game rules that have been developed in order to maintain game balance in leagues that last for long periods of time (e.g. for months or years rather than weeks), and for use in tournaments where very precise play balance and exact wording of the rules are important. They have been heavily tested by Blood Bowl coaches around the world, to ensure the best long-term balance and minimum of confusion. However, by necessity this makes the competition rules longer and more complex than the standard rules, and because of this their use is entirely optional. League commissioners and tournament organisers should therefore feel free to use either the competition rules or the standard rules included with the Blood Bowl game, whichever they consider to be the most appropriate for the league or tournament they plan to run. Note that the Competition Rules pack only includes the information and rules that you will need during play. All descriptions of game components, the history of Blood Bowl, and all illustrations and ‘Did You Knows’ have been removed, both in order to save repeating information already in the Blood Bowl Rulebook, and to save time and money when printing the document out. We recommend printing two pages to a sheet to save further paper. Also note that the original page numbering has been preserved as much as possible, to ensure that page references in the text remain correct, and this sometimes means that the page numbers ‘jump forward’ or that pages have a certain amount of empty space.
