Penrith Station Upgrade Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith was joined by Andrew Constance MP, Minister for Transport and Infrastructure at Penrith Station to announce the upgrades are moving closer. The NSW Government is delivering station upgrades right across Western Sydney and customers at Penrith Station will be the latest to benefit from an upgrade. The planning documents include designs for new lifts and stairs to the platforms, a new station concourse, improved interchange areas and upgrades to lighting and CCTV. The project team will work closely with the Office of Environment and Heritage through the design process. The work is being delivered under the Transport Access Program – an initiative to deliver modern, safe and accessible transport infrastructure. The NSW unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for the last 23 consecutive months. Around 123,000 jobs were created in NSW through the year to September, accounting for more than half of the jobs added nationally. Employment increased by 3.4 per cent though the year to September 2 01 5 – well above national growth of 2.0 per cent. The NSW economy is going from strength to strength with the polices of the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government helping to create over 250,000 jobs in NSW since April 2 011. New program tackles Freight Rail Noise Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith announced that a NSW Government program to help reduce noise along freight train lines is being offered to Emu Plains residents. Noise reduction treatments of up to $30,000 per property will be available for eligible residents. Treatments may be applied to living and sleeping areas facing the rail line and may include new or upgraded windows and doors, enclosing or sealing gaps, vents and openings, and installation of ventilation systems to allow for circulation of fresh air.
