中国风景：从乡村到城市

今天的中国是一个变化大于不变的国度，它传统的乡村景观已经让位给城市景观。这些剧烈的 景观变化反映了一个历史时代的到来，它既有生活习惯的改变，也会引发文化的深层次变化。 在今天， 谈论与观看中国都是一件既迷人、又让人遐想的事情，不仅中国人自己常常沉浸在这种思考中，而 同时国际社会也是极大地关注中国。因为无论如何，中国的变化都是世界也在变化的一个缩影，而且 会相互影响。从这些艺术家的作品里，我们可以感受到中国风景开始不一样了，它们浓缩了一切的一 切，它们既丰富了中国想象的素材，也丰富了摄影作为艺术的机会和能力。 看中国风景，感受时间穿梭和空间转换，如同亲临现场；在世界想象中国，如同历史就在眼前。

China today is a country featuring variety more than steadiness; the traditional rural landscape was replaced by the urban. The drastic changes of the landscape reflected the coming of a new era, which leads to the change of habits and customs, even the profound change of culture. It is really attractive and fancy to watch and talk about China nowadays. Chinese people often submerge themselves in thinking about this change, and at the same time the international society concentrates a lot in it. For the change of China is an epitome of the change of the world and they interrelate with each other. From the artworks of the exhibition, we can find China is becoming different. These artworks compressed everything of China. They provide the materials of imagination about China and empower photography as a media of art. Watch Chinascape, experiencing the transformation of time and space as if on the scene; imaging about China in the context of the world like facing the history.

艺术是语言的实践，为了不被自身的范畴所局限，艺术应扩展到研究、分析、映射、发现以及想象 通往现实的新途径。“双重剧场”是对艺术的一种十分直观的比喻，在这里，相似与差别、存在与幻想 交织在一起，艺术家变换的视角描绘着现实，同时也直指未来。 从这个意义上讲，“中国景观：从乡村到城市”即反映出当今的中国艺术，以及二十一世纪以来全 球发展的大背景给中国社会和文化带来的变化。本次展览将通过16位艺术家的影像作品呈现一次从乡村 到城市现实与精神之旅，这次旅程同时也浓缩了艺术家在当代国家和国际体系影响下不断进化和变形的 新视野。

Chinascape：From Rural to Urban

Art is a practice of languages that, in order not to become imprisoned in its own microcosm, opens itself up to research, analysis, reflection, the discovery of new paths of the real and the imaginary. It is a perspective that places art in a “theatre of the double”, in which the similar and the dissimilar, existence and the fantastical, are all interwoven, where the chameleon-like gaze of the artist describes the present while always projecting straight out towards the future. Chinascape. From rural to urban is, in this sense, a project dedicated to the present moment of Chinese art, to the changes being undergone by a cultural and social system that in the new millennium has set out on a path leading it from a “local” condition towards a wider perspective concerned with “global” development. The exhibition aims to showcase, through the photographic work of sixteen artists, the journey – both physical and mental – from the countryside to the megalopolis, encapsulating, in the process, the new visions that the artists have of a contemporary national and international system subject to constant evolution and metamorphosis.
