  • Merriweather Post Pavilion
Citizen Advisory Panel on Merriweather Post Pavilion Final Report Introduction On August 12, 2004, County Executive Jim Robey signed Executive Order No. 2004-03 (attached as Appendix 1), which appointed 16 leaders of the business and arts communities in Howard County to serve on the Merriweather Citizens Advisory Panel (the Panel). He asked the Panel to advise him on whether Howard County (the County) should purchase Merriweather Post Pavilion from The Rouse Company (now General Growth Properties (GGP)), which had announced that Merriweather was for sale provided that the purchaser agrees to meet certain provisions. He asked the Panel to answer five questions: 1. Is there a public service purpose for Howard County to purchase Merriweather Post Pavilion? 2. If there is a public service purpose for the County to purchase Merriweather, what should be the primary purpose of the facility (e.g., a concert venue, an all-purpose arts facility, etc.), what other activities should be permitted and what organizations should have access? 3. Does Merriweather need to be renovated, and if so what type and scope of renovation would be necessary for it to most successfully and effectively achieve the determined primary purpose? 4. What type of management and control structure should be put into place for the operation of this facility? 5. What level of public oversight should exist? In addition, the County solicited proposals for consultant services for a “Feasibility study associated with the possible purchase and renovation of Merriweather Post Pavilion.” The County received five proposals it deemed to be acceptable. Following interviews with the firms that submitted those proposals, the County hired the team of Ziger/Snead LLP Architects, Webb Management Services, Inc.

  • The Moody Blues Tour / Set List Project - Updated April 9, 2006
The Moody Blues Tour / Set List Project - updated April 9, 2006 compiled by Linda Bangert Please send any additions or corrections to Linda Bangert ([email protected]) and notice of any broken links to Neil Ottenstein ([email protected]). This listing of tour dates, set lists, opening acts, additional musicians was derived from many sources, as noted on each file. Of particular help were "Higher and Higher" magazine and their website at www.moodies- magazine.com and the Moody Blues Official Fan Club (OFC) Newsletters. For a complete listing of people who contributed, click here. Particular thanks go to Neil Ottenstein, who hosts these pages, and to Bob Hardy, who helped me get these pages converted to html. One-off live performances, either of the band as a whole or of individual members, are not included in this listing, but generally can be found in the Moody Blues FAQ in Section 8.7 - What guest appearances have the band members made on albums, television, concerts, music videos or print media? under the sub-headings of "Visual Appearances" or "Charity Appearances". The current version of the FAQ can be found at www.toadmail.com/~notten/FAQ-TOC.htm I've construed "additional musicians" to be those who played on stage in addition to the members of the Moody Blues. Although Patrick Moraz was legally determined to be a contract player, and not a member of the Moody Blues, I have omitted him from the listing of additional musicians for brevity. Moraz toured with the Moody Blues from 1978 through 1990. From 1965-1966 The Moody Blues were Denny Laine, Clint Warwick, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge, although Warwick left the band sometime in 1966 and was briefly replaced with Rod Clarke.

Pinot Noir Reaches for Your Heart Volume 9, Issue 40 April 18, 2014 Winemaker & Winegrower Ted Lemon: Celebrates 20 Years of Littorai, 30 Years of Winemaking “We believe that the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown along the true littoral zone of the continent, hence this is where we source our grapes. Littorai searches to unearth the finest vineyards at the very boundary of where grapes can be successfully ripened.” Ted & Heidi Lemon, Mission Statement 1993 On March 3, 2014, a very special occasion was marked at Jardiniere Restaurant in San Francisco celebrating the 20 year anniversary of Littorai Wines and 30 years of winemaking for Ted Lemon. During this tasting, Ted shared wines from not only 20 years of Littorai, but his journey as a winemaker over the last 30 years, beginning in Burgundy. Ted and Heidi opened a stunning lineup of wines from their personal cellar. This report will detail my impressions of that tasting. Ted Lemon has received well-deserved high accolades for his winemaking prowess through the years and I have written extensively in his praise. The first winemaker interview I ever did for Grape Radio was at Ted’s farm in the Sebastopol Hills back in 2007: www.graperadio.com/archives/2007/07/30/. His unique story is reviewed here. Born in Bedford, New York, Ted traces the origin of his interest in wine to a high school year in which he studied abroad in Burgundy. Later he attended Brown University where he majored in French literature. In his junior year of college, he spent six months at the Université de Dijon where he took a wine appreciation class from the director of Burgundy’s tourism office.
