THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MIDDLESBROUGH (VARIOUS TOWN CENTRE ROADS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020 The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers over the lengths of road as specified in the Schedules below. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along those lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 of this Order. Temporary loading only bays are to be installed along those lengths of road specified in Schedule 2. The proposals will come into effect from 15th June 2020 for up to 18 months. The Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Access will be maintained for pedestrians to gain access to any premises situated on or adjacent to; or any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the roads referred to below. Access will also be maintained for any vehicle being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to the lengths of roads specified (Church House car park only on Bedford Street); any vehicle being used in connection with any building operation or demolition in or adjacent to the lengths of roads specified; any vehicle being used in connection with the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the lengths of roads specified; any vehicle being used in connection with the laying, erection, alteration or maintenance of any sewer, or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or of any telecommunications apparatus as defined in the Telecommunications Act 1984 in or adjacent to the lengths of roads specified; any vehicle being used in connection with the Police, Fire or Ambulance services; any vehicle being used in connection with a wedding or funeral held at All Saints’ Church; any mechanical street cleansing vehicle, refuse collecting vehicle, mechanical gritting vehicle or gulley emptying vehicle being used in the service of a Local Authority; and pedal cycles. Linthorpe Road From its junction with Borough Road to its junction with Grange Road. On street pay & display parking bays, taxi ranks and waiting restrictions (both Linthorpe Road sides) as required from its junction with Southfield Road to its junction with Borough Road. On street pay & display parking bays (both sides) as required from a point Albert Road approximately 69m south of the junction with Wilson Street for a distance of 10m in a southerly direction. From their junctions with Albert Road to their junctions with Linthorpe Road, Bedford Street including on street pay & display parking bays, waiting restrictions, loading, permit & Baker Street holders and disabled parking bays as required (both sides). SCHEDULE 2: Temporary Loading Only Bays Road Affected Description Suspension of permit holders only parking bays along the western side of Albert Albert Road Road, from its junction with Borough Road to its junction with Grange Road, and replacement with loading only bays. .
