The 249 scholar-athletes from the men's and women's athletics departments simultaneously pursue academic excellence with participation in intercollegiate athletics and are acknowledged for their efforts as members of the 300 Club. The University of Minnesota's women athletes earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.08. This marks the 23rd consecutive term with an overall grade point average above 3.0 for women athletes. The 1998-99 academic year also signifies the men's athletics department's highest overall grade point averages since Academic Counseling & Student Services began monitoring grade point averages in 1984 with 2.87, 2.86, 2.85 for Fall, Winter and Spring quarters respective grade point average. The following student athletes earned a minimum 3.0 GPA. Names in bold/italics indicate the student-athlete achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the 1999 Spring quarter.
