Fred Norman & Dave Bristol to join Adam Dunn in the 2018 Reds Hall of Fame Induction Class The three will be honored during Reds Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, July 21 & 22 CINCINNATI (February 6, 2018) — Starting pitcher Fred Norman and manager Dave Bristol will join Adam Dunn to complete the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame’s Induction Class of 2018. • Fred Norman was a mainstay of the Big Red Machine’s starting rotation from 1973-79 and recorded double-digit victory totals in each of his seven seasons in a Reds uniform • Dave Bristol was a major contributor to the creation of the Big Red Machine and managed the Reds from 1966-69 Bristol and Norman were selected by the Hall’s Veterans Committee, which is comprised of Hall of Famers, Reds executives, Hall of Fame board members, baseball historians and media members. “I’d like to thank the Veterans Committee for its thoughtful and thorough review of all the former players and managers that were part of the Veterans Ballot,” said Rick Walls, executive director of the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum. “After speaking with Fred and Dave, I know this election means the world to them, and we all look forward to enshrining them among the other Reds legends in the Hall during Induction Weekend July 21-22.” Dunn was the top vote-getter selected by fans, Reds alumni and select media through the Modern Player Ballot, presented by Clark Schaefer Hackett, the official accounting firm of the Reds Hall of Fame Ballot. The trio will be honored during Reds Hall of Fame Induction Weekend on July 21 & 22 and brings the Hall’s membership ranks to 89 total including 81 players, 5 managers and 3 executives.

Cincinnati Reds Press Clippings October 16, 2015 THIS DAY IN REDS HISTORY 1990 - Eric Davis becomes the 22nd player to homer in his first World Series at-bat. CINCINNATI ENQUIRER Who plays left field for Reds in '16? By John Fay / Cincinnati Enquirer / [email protected] / @johnfayman This is the fourth in a periodic series looking at the questions the Reds face this offseason. Today's question: Who plays left field? I'll give you a firm "I don't know" on this one. The Reds have roughly as many candidates for left field as the Republicans have presidential hopefuls. The difference is the Reds have no clear frontrunner. Eight players started a game in left for the Reds this year. The two who played the most — Marlon Byrd (86 games) and Skip Schumaker (32) — are gone. Byrd was traded away; Schumaker is a free agent. The others who started: Adam Duvall (15), Ivan DeJesus Jr. (14), Jason Bourgeois (6), Brennan Boesch (5), Chris Dominguez (2) and Kristopher Negron (2). The Reds also plan to play catcher Devin Mesoraco in left some in spring. And you've got to think Eugenio Suarez will get some time there as well. Minor-leaguers Jesse Winker and Yorman Rodriguez could be in the mix as well. Of the guys who played there last year, Duvall, 26, probably has the best chance to win the job. He hit .204 with five home runs and nine RBI in 64 at-bats with the Reds. He hit .281 with 30 home runs and 87 RBI in Triple-A.

Cincinnati Reds Press Clippings October 23, 2017 THIS DAY IN REDS HISTORY 1949-The Reds name Luke Sewell as manager MLB.COM Inbox: Who is poised for breakout on Reds? Beat reporter Mark Sheldon answers questions from fans By Mark Sheldon / MLB.com | @m_sheldon | October 20th, 2017 + 269 COMMENTS Which young pitcher do you think has the best chance to be a quality starter next season? -- Shawn R., Vancouver, Wash. Luis Castillo has every chance to have a breakout 2018 campaign. His 3-7 record in '17 is deceptive, as his other numbers show he was solid. He posted a 3.12 ERA in 15 starts (eight quality starts), with a 1.075 WHIP over 89 1/3 innings. This all came after being promoted to the big leagues from Double-A, skipping a Triple-A stint. Beyond the numbers, Castillo is 24 years old and already seems to have command of four pitches. The right-hander can regularly top 98-100 mph and then beat hitters with the secondary stuff -- namely a changeup or slider. He also has a great tempo that the defense enjoys working behind. Can you speculate as to the future of Devin Mesoraco in Cincinnati? I assume Stuart Turner will be in Triple-A next year since the Reds were able to keep him on the Major League roster all of 2017? -- Tom G., Alexandria, Ky. Mesoraco will be entering the final season of his four-year, $28 million contract. Over the first three years of that deal, hip, shoulder and foot injuries decimated his ability to play and produce, and he has played just 95 games with 57 starts.
