ACADEMIC RESULT ANALYSIS Foundation Stone laying ceremony of Student Activity Centre, Inauguration of Library block and renovation of computer block was done on 12 th February 2020 by Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education Prof. Shri. K T Jaleel. Shri. Adv K Rajan, Hon’ble Chief Whip of Kerala Government (MLA Ollur) presided over the meeting. Shri. MK Varghese, Hon’ble Mayor of Thrissur corporation was the chief guest in the function. Smt. Dr. T P Baijubai , Director of Dept of Technical Education welcomed the dignitaries. Subrahmanian CM, Trade Instructor at GWPC Nedupuzha left for the heavenly abode on 2nd March 2021. With deep sorrow, a condolence meeting in memory of the departed colleague was organized the by Staff members of GWPC Nedupuzha on 3rd March 2021. Staff members and students of GWPC Nedupuzha paid homage to Subrahmanian Sir and also shared their memories about their association with him. Transfer A farewell function was arranged to Smt. A S Chandrakanta, former Principal who got transfer to SITTTR Kalamassery as Deputy Director. The send off function was organized by Staff club of GWPC Nedupuzha on 2nd February 2021. As a token of appreciation from the GWPC Staff fraternity, a memento was handed over by Mr. Sidhikh V A, Secretary, Staff club of GWPC on behalf of staff. Ramdas, Watchman of our college got promotion transfer to Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He was relieved from his duty on 8th April 2021. Senior staff member Smt. Malathy handed over the memento in a special meeting arranged on the day of relieving. Congratulations Sir. Retirement Shri. Suresh Babu P E, Physical Education Instructor retired on 30 th April 2021 after 24 years of govt. service . He has been working in our college from 2017. He brought immense achievements to our college which includes overall championship 2017-18, overall championship in athletics meet 2019-20 etc. We, the fraternity of GWPC thank him for his immense contribution to the college and wish him all the best for his future endeavors. CAMPUS CLEANING DRIVE A campus cleaning drive was conducted by NSS volunteers in our campus on 14.01.2021. ORIENTATION CLASS FOR FIRST YEAR VOLUNTEERS An orientation class was arranged on 06.02.2021 for the newly enrolled NSS volunteers with the intention to impart the principles and motto of NSS to the volunteers. The orientation class was handled by Shri. Jayachandran T, Motivational speaker who is also a staff member of the college. The present report of Rapid Impact Assessment of flood/ landslides on Biodiversity focus on community perspectives of the affect on Biodiversity and Ecosystems. It is for the first time in India that such an assessment of impact of natural disasters on Biodiversity was conducted at LSG level and it is a collaborative effort of BMC and Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB). More importantly each of the 187 BMCs who were involved had also outlined the major causes for such an impact as perceived by them and suggested strategies for biodiversity conservation at local level. Being a study conducted by local community all efforts has been made to incorporate practical approaches for prioritizing areas for biodiversity conservation which can be implemented at local level.
