Sure, skill will be cru - cial, but what she wants to see the most as she begins her stint as coach of the Jay County High School pro - gram is maximum effort. “When I think of volley - ball I think of 100 percent effort 100 percent of the time,” she said. “If you hustle you’re going to get playing time over some - one who is just letting the ball drop because they know they are good.” A former player at Franklin College in Indi - anapolis, the Kentucky native doesn’t want her squad to let up. “Not being lazy, heart, love for the game,” she said. “Even if you’re not the best, if you’re out there giving 100 percent, throwing your body for the ball, that’s what heart is.
