Presidents Report Good luck also goes out to our junior cricketers who began this week. Some great results early for most of the teams, with an Under 15’s Under 11’s and Under 9’s sides beating the arch rival….Payneham. Well done boys and I hope that you enjoy the season ahead. Craig Burford. The season has begun! We have well and truly kicked off the season now with some Social Calendar great team and individual performances taking place in Round 1. Hundreds, fifties (I’m not talking about the average age of the One day team) as well as plenty of …..and even a Save the dates and book the babysitters for the hat trick! What an opening round of . following dates. On the “social” front I am extremely proud of the support that  15th nov. quizz and bingo night everyone showed last Saturday night. To have approx. 40 players, wives, girlfriends, children and family members come back and have a drink and a meal and support the club and  27th nov non selection night. The Walkerville Movember bowles night dress up opshop Cricket Club has always been a great place to go back to after a hard day in the field, or a long day on the sidelines after getting out for just 3 runs…..sorry going into my here.  Xmas show 20th dec To celebrate or commiserate with team mates on a Saturday night also heaps to build not just a stronger team bond, but it creates a stronger club culture.  17th jan poker night Dinners will continue each Thursday on “selection” nights and then the “presentation” night Saturdays. A huge thank you goes out to Janet and Kaela Neate for their sensational meals and  9th feb a night at the dogs monday night. their positive attitude towards cooking in our “kitchen”. On the kitchen front we have been officially informed that the Walkerville council will be upgrading our kitchen from the 5th  14th march cocktail night. Hawaii theme November for approx. 4 weeks. C Grade Wrap Up

Payneham at Devett oval, arrived to a green deck and lush outfield, we won our first toss for the year and things were looking good. Grapentin and Raynham opened the attack with some early tough chances missed and several LBW calls turned down. They settled in before Gerri Raynham took his first. One Day Wrap Up

On a perfect day for cricket I lost the toss and we were asked to have a bowl first. I was not too unhappy with this as we had a stronger bowling attack than maybe our batting looked on paper. Mark (Evo) Evans and Jo Matthew opened the bowling beautifully and within the first 12 overs Payneham were 5 for 15. Evo looked menacing and after his first spell he ended up with 6 overs 4 maidens 2 for 3. Jo, not to be out done, had 3 for 12.
