Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) neyshabouris (Denmark & Daneshvar, 1982) were recorded for the second time. This species with the male of Proprioseiopsis messor (Wainstein, 1960) are redescribed and illustrated. A key to the adult females of the Razavi Khorasan province of Iran is also provided. Phytoseius corniger Wainstein, 1959 had the highest abundance and distribution in this survey. Key words: Predatory mite fauna, abundance, Mesostigmata, northeast Iran. Introduction Razavi Khorasan province is located in northeastern Iran. Mashhad is located in the center and is the capital of the province. Agriculture in Razavi Khorasan province is one of the largest and most important suppliers of agricultural products, with more than 1.06 million hectares under cultivation and horticultural crops play a decisive role in the economy of the province and country (Anonymous 2012). Predatory mites of the family Phytoseiidae are the most important natural enemies of tetranychid and eriophyid mites (Acari: Tetranychidae and Eriophyidae) (Gerson et al. 2003; Sabelis 1996). These mites feed on small insects such as whiteflies, thrips and scale insects as well as injurious plant mites. -

Grapevine is vulnerable to a range of pests, including mites. We present an overview of phytophagous and predatory mites on grapevine in South Africa and describe a new phytoseiid species which was discovered in the winelands region of Wellington, South Africa. Grapevine shoots with leaves were collected over two growing seasons at four farms in Wellington. A nursery, mother block and a commercial vineyard were selected on each farm. The mites were removed with a mite brushing machine and slide mounted. The Phytoseiidae Database, as well the most recent relevant literature were used in confirming the new species. Illustrations of the new species were made using photographs taken by Zeiss Axioskop TM Research that included a Zen Soft Imaging System. The new Typhlodromus species, Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) spiceae sp.n., is set apart from closely related species by setae Z4 being 0.7 times the length of Z5 and by having a short, saccular and thick-walled spermathecal. -

This paper presents the redescription of six species belonging to two subgenera Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) De Leon and Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) Scheuten (each with three species, respectively): T. (A.) bagdasarjani Wainstein & Arutunjan, T. (A.) kerkirae Swirski & Ragusa, T. (A.) khosrovensis Arutunjan, T. (T.) phialatus Athias–Henriot, T. (T.) leptodactylus Wainstein and T. (T.) tubifer Wainstein. It is the first record of T. (T.) phialatus Athias–Henriot for the Iranian phytoseiid fauna. (2004), twelve species of Paraseiulus Muma are known worldwide, of which six were recorded in Iran (Kamali et al., 2001; Faraji et al., 2007). The genus Paraseiulus is characterized by the absence of cau- doventral setae JV2; ventrianal shield sole-shaped, with two pairs of preanal setae and without preanal pores; sternal shield with two pairs of setae; setae ST3 either located on soft cuticle or inserted on platelets and setae ST4 inserted on separate platelets; calyx of spermatheca elongate-tubular, bell-shaped or saccular; fixed cheliceral digit with two or three teeth; legs without macrosetae or with a short macroseta on basitarsus IV. A new species of Paraseiulus is described in this paper and a key is provided to help in the identification of the world species of this genus. The classification system follows Chant and McMurtry (1994) for Typhlodrominae. The notations used for dorsal and ventral setations follow Rowell et al.
