They beat Syston 4 - 0 in round 1 and Wanstead 3½ - Inter: U115 shared between Craig Whitfield, Cheddleton / Leek & ½ in the second. Then they relaxed merely beating the higher Philip Wood, Kenilworth 4 / 6 graded Milton Keynes team 2½ - 1½ before dispatching Clevedon 3½ - ½. Three points ahead at the start of the last Minor: U80 Michael Littlewood, Rotherham Jnrs 4.5 / 6 round, they held off a challenge from the highly graded Oxford Gordon Christie City team drawing 2 - 2. Congratulations to the Cowley 1 team for a remarkable achievable.
