South Gloucestershire Council Grants + Funding Community Grant Area Forum Guidance Notes South Gloucestershire Council is able to give grants to all kinds of voluntary, community groups and Town & Parish Councils to help them with their projects. They could receive up to £3,000 (or more depending on the nature of your project). The final decision on your grant application is made locally by councillors from your area in one of five area forums or an area wide forum if your project covers all of South Gloucestershire. You can download the other guidance notes on our website at http://tiny.cc/7ysg2w What is a Community Grant? Community Grant is the new name for the Small (Revenue) Grant and Capital Grant. You can apply online for both funds on the same form. At the time of writing (April 2014), the amount of funding for revenue projects is very limited is certain area. If your application is for revenue items, please contact the Grants Helpline for advice before you apply. Which area forum should I be applying to? Each ward in South Gloucestershire is linked to one of the five area forums, and the forum you should apply to will be the one where your group operates or where most of our residents will benefit. If your group benefits people from across the whole of South Gloucestershire, you can make an application to a ‘Joint Committee Area Forum’. What are the area forums, and which areas do they cover? The Chase Area Forum Wards: Downend, Kingschase, Rodway, Staple Hill and Woodstock. Frome Vale Area Forum Wards: Chipping Sodbury, Cotswold Edge, Dodington, Frampton Cotterell, Ladden Brook, Westerleigh, Yate Central, Yate North) Kings Forest Area Forum Wards: Bitton, Boyd Valley, Emersons Green, Hanham, Longwell Green, Oldland Common, Parkwall and Siston. Severn Vale Area Forum Wards: Almondsbury, Charfield, Pilning and Severn Beach, Severn, Thornbury North, and Thornbury South and Alveston. Southern Brooks Area Forum Wards: Bradley Stoke Central and Stoke Lodge, Bradley Stoke North, Bradley Stoke South, Filton, Patchway, Stoke Gifford and Winterbourne, Frenchay and Stoke Park. Local priorities The area forums want to respond to local needs, and are currently developing a list of priorities that will support their decision making.
