ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY TREK Annapurna Sanctuary Trek FITWAYS Information Pack TRAINING AND EXPEDITION EXPERTS Trip Description This expedition takes you on a journey into the breathtaking peaks of the Annapurna region in Central Nepal. It gives UK travellers the unique opportunity to get into the heart of the Himalayas in just two weeks of holidays. One of the draws of this trek is the rich diversity of birds, animals and plants in the region. As the altitude increases we will encounter sub-tropical lowlands, rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, desert plateaus and glacial terrain. Annapurna Base Camp itself is set in an astonishing natural amphitheatre, with stunning 360° views of soaring peaks, and of course the mighty Annapurna itself, the 10th highest mountain on the planet. Trip Description To ensure you can enjoy this experience in just 2 weeks holiday, the trip starts in Kathmandu on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday morning, giving you sufficient time to return to the UK for the following week. If you’re able to arrive into Kathmandu before Sunday, you‘ll have the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of Nepal’s capital city. Day 1 – Arriving in Kathmandu Kathmandu is the vibrant capital of Nepal, jam packed with temples, taxis and tea-stalls. You will be greeted at the airport and driven by shuttle to the hotel, which is a tranquil oasis in this frenetic city. You’ll then have a chance to meet your fellow trekkers and get to know the Fitways Adventures team. You’ll have a briefing from your Group Leader, ensuring that everyone is properly equipped for the trek and giving you an overview of the adventure ahead. Your brief stop in Kathmandu will give you the chance to collect any equipment you need before we head out to Pokhara (gateway to the Annapurna region) the following day.
