38 7 Public Consultation Day - Chacewater Village Hall on Saturday 25th November 2018 A wide variety of table top or projection displays were provided at both venues to: articulate our Questionnaire response findings, show off our LLCA work and detail just some of the projects that we our Plan will aim to take forward, with a purpose, whether that be before or once it has been adopted. To give you a flavour for just some of these related projects, we will be targeting:  Moving on with our Community Speedwatch (CSW) initiative.  Looking to raise monies for a replacement Football Pavilion with a Sports Changing Facility and regenerate other parts of the Recreation Ground.  Drive on with our recently introduced ‘Chacewater Energy Group’ to see what benefits this can bring, not only to the in- dividual householder but the wider community as a whole.  Engage with Affordable Housing initiatives such as the Com- munity Land Trust. What next then? Well, apart from a couple of meetings with Cornwall Council, December will be a time for reflection on what we have achieved thus far…which we feel is quite a bit. However, January will see your LNDP Team really start to get into the drafting of the Neighbourhood Plan itself through identification/use of important reference documents and by contacting organisations or agencies who can help us. We will then advance towards pre-submission consultation period that we hope will cover the 6-week period from the 23rd April. For more information about the LNDP, visit the village website, read the detail contained on our dedicated notice boards in the main Car Park and Village Hall or contact: Mr Rob Knill via email: [email protected] or Tel: 01872 561364/07816 773218. It does not matter whether it is a plant or animal, bird or insect, alive or dead. Every little piece of recorded information helps to build up a better, bigger picture of Cornwall’s environment. The Cornwall Wildlife Trust (CWT) is based nearby at Five Acres, Allet, Truro TR4 9DJ. www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk. It hosts the Environmental Records Centre for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (ERCCIS) www.erccis.org.uk which runs a wildlife recording website “Online Recording Kernow and Scilly” (ORKS) www.orks.org.uk. ERCCIS encourages anyone to submit wildlife records, whatever your experience and no matter how common or widespread the species. Your records will help improve our understanding of the natural and the Isles of Scilly, as well as to be used in decision-making, education, research and other public benefit purposes. ORKS has been designed to make it as quick and easy as possible for you to submit, store and share your wildlife records. Go to www.orks.org.uk. 12 33 Turning left along Kea Downs, we then turned sharply right A Complete Council along a very claggy and arrow-straight bridleway 301/29/2 towards the northern Parish boundary. Noting the almost For the first time for many years Chacewater Parish Council has obscured entrance to bridleway 301/29/1 directly in front of us its full complement of Councillors. We welcome Chris Kent and (must be explored some day!), we walked right along the lengthy hope he will enjoy his time on the Parish Council. Chris’ contact and well-kept byway 301/28/2 through the Penstraze area of the details can be found with all the rest at the end of this edition of Parish. "What's On in Chacewater". Where the way forked we went right on a wet and muddy byway 301/21/2 back to Kea Downs road and on to the “Weak Bridge” over the main to London railway line. (Taking byway 301/21/1 to the left would have linked up nicely with 301/30/2 and eventually brought us to the same spot). Again, with safety very much in mind we crossed this road with care before stepping across right into and down the pasture/arable fields that accommodate footpath 301/17/1. As many walkers would know, this is where the true majesty of the Chacewater valley and surrounding skyline is at its very best; St Paul’s Church sitting proudly to the left and the viaduct the dominant feature to the right. We then walked beside the on Riverside and back into the village by 11.00am.

32 13 CHACEWATER RIGHTS OF WAY (CRoW) WALK

SUNDAY 3rd DECEMBER 2017 Four dogs set off at 9.30am alongside sixteen walkers. From the car park we crossed Fore Street and along Station Road to The Terrace for about 5 yards, before turning right up North Hill where we picked up muddy Public Bridleways 301/19/2 & 19/1 which eventually took us past Carley’s Organic Foods and back out onto Station Road which runs parallel. A short jaunt left on the road and then down an access route to the right, we soon met up with the 301/20/3 & 20/2 Footpath/Byway taking us uphill towards the railway crossing. Pausing to take in the good view behind us that only the winter allows, we all navigated the railway line with proper care and attention and then connected with 301/67/2 & 1 taking us up and out onto the Kea Downs Road.

CROW walkers pause before crossing Penzance/London main-line railway.
