Latino Institute-Carnegie Corporation Grant for $127,000 (for 1994-1996) with the Cuban American National Council (CNC) to fund the Latino Urban Policy Agenda (LUPA) project. This project involved study of five cities in a joint effort with 4 Latino policy centers (the Cuban American National Council, the Tomás Rivera Center, the Institute for Puerto Rican Policy, and the Latino Institute). The goal was to determine key problems facing Hispanics living in Miami, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston. This grant could only be funded through CNC and not the University of Miami because it is part of a program to fund non-profit Hispanic-run service-providing agencies.
