Almarzooq, Kuwait Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity & Water and Chairman of the Board, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Attendance performed the official exhibition ceremony on 16 October 2017 at Kuwait International Fair, accompanied by an entourage of senior officials from KPC and 6,129 subsidiaries, government representatives, and senior oil and gas executives. total attendees Principal regional exhibitors included KPC and subsidiaries, Bapco, Sabic, Saudi 4,002 Aramco and EQUATE. Complementing these regional giants were a host of exhibition visitors international powerhouses including Amec Foster Wheeler, Baker Hughes, a GE Company, BP, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Shell, Total and Weatherford amongst others who exhibited 2,127 alongside independent specialist suppliers and distributors from Kuwait and across conference delegates the world. The exhibition also featured large national groups from France and Egypt. 60 attending countries The conference opened in a special ceremony on 15 October 2017 at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre. Welcome addresses were delivered by His Excellency Issam Al-Marzooq, Kuwait Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity of Attendance by Region Water and Chairman of Board of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC); Nizar M. Al- Adsani, CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Board of KPC; and Sami Al-Neaim, 2017 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) President. His Excellency Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair commented, “We are proud to sponsor the 3rd Kuwait Oil and Gas Show and Conference, which is a great example of collaboration to share technical knowledge about petroleum geosciences, exploration, production and refining, as well as petrochemical products and services”. Related to the current situation in the oil and gas sector, Dr. Al-Omair added: “Despite the uncertainties and challenges facing the energy sector, we all agree that our main objective must focus on providing a stable and sustainable energy future for the next generations. Through innovation, new technologies and collaboration, we can move forward and overcome such challenges”. An Executive Plenary Session on this year’s conference theme ‘Shaping the Energy Future: Integration and Diversification’ followed the opening ceremony. Keynote speeches were delivered by Isam Al Zadjali, CEO, Oman Oil Company; Andy Brown, Upstream Director, Shell; Belgacem Chariag, Chief Global Operations Officer, Baker Hughes, a GE Company; Frederico Justus, President – Eastern Hemisphere, Weatherford; and Stephane Michel, President E&P MENA, Total. More than 100 technical and e-poster presentations designed to share the knowledge and experience of managing, operating and supplying oil and gas companies took place over the subsequent 3 days of the conference at Kuwait Kuwait 5,084 International Fair. Middle East 651 The pace-setting agenda at KOGS 2017 also included 4 industry panel sessions, 7 Europe 224 special sessions and 3 technical special sessions led by chief executive officers, managers and presidents of national and international oil companies and the Asia 76 service industry. Panel discussion topics include upstream integration, value chain North & South 81 optimisation, frontier challenges and offshore exploration. America A one-day SPE training course and a two-day programme of events aimed at the Other 13 next generation of oil and gas professionals, which offered high school students and teachers the opportunity to engage and gain valuable career advice, were also held in conjunction with KOGS 2017.
