    Town of New London Board of Commissioner’s Meeting February 2, 2021 Mayor Tate Daniels welcomed everyone and opened the Commissioner’s Meeting. Present for the meeting were Mayor Tate Daniels, Commissioners Bill Peak, Johnny Chestnut, Richard Kimmer and Town Administrator Susan Almond. Commissioners Marcus Mullis and Christy Starnes were absent from the meeting. Visitors present at the meeting were Cathy Kimmer, John Kimmer, Elizabeth Chestnut, Debbie Bennett from the Stanly County Health Department, and Ann Craven from Rowell, Craven & Short, P.A. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Johnny Chestnut. Mayor Daniels asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Commissioner Chestnut made a motion to approve the meeting agenda, seconded by Commissioner Peak. Motion carried. Mayor Daniels asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes from the previous meeting on January 12th. There being no corrections, Commissioner Peak made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Kimmer. Motion carried. Mrs. Debbie Bennett, a representative from the Stanly County Health Department, spoke to the Town Board and encouraged everyone to complete the 2021 Community Health Assessment Survey. The deadline to complete the survey is February 17th. Mrs. Almond will add a link to this survey on the Public Recreation Survey that will be mailed to all residents this week. Mrs. Ann Craven gave an overview of the audit report. She noted that the town is in terrific shape. The governmental funds went down a little and expenses increased due to the park project. Our net position increased by $440,000 from last year.
