Last weekend at Daytona: Bowyer started 16th and raced among the leaders throughout the event, even leading three laps. As rain approached with just 35 laps remaining, Bowyer made a bid for the lead before leader Austin Dillon attempted to block, triggering a multicar accident.

Bowyer at Kentucky in 2018: Bowyer started eighth and charged to sixth by the end of the first stage. He finished sixth again in the second stage before a tight-handling car left him with a 12th-place finish.
Bowyer at Kentucky in 2017: Bowyer started 16th and ran in the top-10 until a three-car accident saw Bowyer flat-spot his tires, dropping him to 22nd. He returned to the top-10 but reported a lack of rear grip that dropped him off the lead lap and left him with a 13th-place finish.
Kentucky Speedway in Sparta is the only track on the Cup Series circuit where SHR has yet to win. The team has scored four top-five finishes and 11 top-10s in 27 starts.
