Footnotes HALFBRIDLED moved up from outside in the early stages, raced in the middle of the pack while four wide along the backstretch, edged closer from outside on the turn, accelerated to the front in upper stretch, opened a clear advantage inside the furlong marker then drew off under steady left hand encouragement. ASHADO settled in good position along the backstretch, saved ground while racing just behind the leaders through the turn, angled three wide for clear sailing leaving the quarter pole, then outfinished VICTORY U. S. A. for the place. VICTORY U. S. A. stalked the pace from outside in the early stages, made a run to challenge on the turn, surged to the front midway on the turn, relinquished the lead to the winner in upper stretch then weakened under pressure in the final eighth. HOLLYWOOD STORY steadied between horses while being bumped on the first turn, raced well back while saving ground along the backstretch, closed the gap a bit on the turn then improved her position with a mild late rally. ZOSIMA was bumped off stride soon after the start, steadied in traffic on the first turn, was outrun along the backstretch, swung six wide on the turn then failed to threaten while improving her position. DIXIE HIGH failed to mount a serious rally while saving ground. CLASS ABOVE steadied between horses on the first turn, raced in the middle of the pack to the turn, circled seven wide into the stretch and lacked a strong closing bid. VINO TINTO raced up close while four wide for a half and tired. TARLOW bumped with BE GENTLE after stumbling at the start, raced within striking distance while five wide to the turn and lacked a further response. SOCIETY SELECTION steadied in traffic on the first turn then never reached contention. BE GENTLE raced wide throughout after being bumped at the start. SHADOW OF MINE steadied in traffic on the first turn and failed to menace thereafter. RENAISSANCE LADY caught in traffic on the first turn, was outrun. FOREST MUSIC rushed up to gain the early lead, set the pace to the turn and gave way.
