Amy Thomas (Jr., Austin, Texas)... Thomas posted her second shutout of Dylan Wykes (Jr., Kingston, )... Wykes and the the season as the Friars defeated Maine 5-0 on Sunday, February 8. Thomas men’s indoor track team competed at the University Five-Way Meet made 22 saves in the game, including several breakaway attempts by the Black on Saturday, February 7. Marcus Douthit (Sr., Syracuse, N.Y.)... Douthit scored 16 points and helped the Friars earn a 74-61 win over 18th-ranked Syracuse on February 7. Douthit Bobby Goepfert (So., Kings Park, N.Y.)... Goepfert led the Providence also recorded his second double-double of the season as he added a game-high College men’s hockey team to a 2-0 record last week. On February 6, Goepfert 11 rebounds. For Providence it was their first win ever over a defending turned aside all 36 shots he faced as the Friars defeated Boston University, 2- national champion. 0, in Boston, Mass. WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK... The Providence College women’s indoor track team did not compete last week. The Friars return to action on Tuesday, February 10 at the Boston University Four-Way Meet.

MEN’S INDOOR TRACK... The Providence College men’s indoor track team finished in fifth-place (19 points) at the Boston University Five-Way Track Meet on Saturday, February 7. Junior Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) paced the way for the Friars as he finished first in the mile in a time of 4:01.15. Wykes, who set a personal best time in the mile, also set a new facility record in the event. In addition, Wykes qualified for the NCAA’s in the mile. Sopho- more Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) finished behind Wykes in a time of 4:06.21. Fagan qualified for the BIG EAST and ECAC Championship. In the 800 meters, sophomore Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) placed sec- ond in a time of 1:52.75 to qualify for the BIG EAST Championship. In the 1,000 meters, sophomore Ranjit Banwait (Carteret, N.J.) was PC’s top fin- isher as he placed fourth in a time of 2:33.52. Providence is back in action on February 13-14 at the St. Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
