Hi Jeanne,
Here is Leslie's latest version of her bio. We've gone through several drafts with her. Thanks:
Discovered in 1950 by Gene kelly for "An American in Paris", Leslie Caron did, during her contract with MGM a series of notable films: Liti for which she was nominated for an oscar - The Glass Slipper, where she did her best ballet dancing -The academy award film Gigi with Maurice Chevalier - Fanny, again with Maurice Chevalier - The L-Shaped room for which she was nominated for an Oscar, and won the Golden Globe - Father Gaose with Cary Grant - and more recently, Damage for Louis Malle, then Chocolat for Lasse Hallstrom and Le Divorce for James Ivory. She won an Emmy in 2007 for her guest role as a rape victim in "Recall" in Law & Order SVU. She has been married three times, has two children by husband Peter Hall. Leslie is selling the Auberge she created in Burgundy to devote her full time to the American promotion of her book "Thank Heaven" already in reprint in England where it was launched in October. Leslie is also in preparation to appear in Paris in Steven Sondheim's "A Little Night Music", which starts' rehearsing in January. 1 "Why should I write at all, I ask myself. Yes, of course, there is nothing forcing me to reveal what is, after all, only a personal experience, considering that I'm a very secretive person who shuns self realization. Here was the real conflict: Should I hide like a crab under a stone and go without a ripple, or testify and bear witness? Perhaps it is my old habit of storing everything, recycling things if I can, passing on the treasures I have accumulated, that compelled me finally to leave a trace of the remarkable people I have known and the events I have experienced." -Leslie Caron, TII.ANKHEAVEN Revelations From THANK HEA VEN By Leslie Caron
