The Dead Petals Society

Would you like to be a member of the “Dead Petals Society”? We are hoping to develop a new ministry to assist the Parish Sacristan to keep God's house beautiful. The responsibilities would include: Work with Sacristan to keep plants and flower bouquets fresh, i.e., water flowers and plants; remove debris from arrangements; freshen bouquets; assist with decorations for special feast days. If you would like to lead this ministry or be a part of the ministry please give either Nancy Paulson or Carolyn Gale a call or email. This ministry will work primarily in the Church, have very few meetings and allow members to work as their schedules permit. We hope you will pick up dead petals, leaves and keep our Church beautiful!

CALLING ALL DISCIPLES:

Father Forbes has approved several plans for which members of the Parish are requested to be a part.

Several parishioners who would like to assist Susan LaCosta and her committee to plan an early Fall Parish picnic.

Several parishioners who are willing to participate in a one time a month new program, CHILDRENS SUMMER PRAYERS . We will offer Exposition, Benediction and a talk directed toward children one time a month during the summer. Prayers will be followed by ice-cream. We will need adults to help with singing hymns and serving. The dates for this program are Wednesdays, July 14 and August 11 at 6:00PM. This will take only a couple of hours but will help children experience some of the liturgical treasures of our Faith.

Adult and Adolescent Faith Formation disciples to team teach during the School year ( Sept '21 thru May '22 ). Our classes are arranged with several teachers in each class to assure consistent coverage. For parishioners wishing to get involved in Faith Formation, supervision, lesson planning assistance, and teaching methods are offered to help you begin to learn to share your Faith with young people. We also welcome adults, new to the Parish who have previously been members of catechetical teams.

Parish Mission is tentatively scheduled for the Fall. We are seeking several parishioners to be part of the team to welcome and assist the Retreat Master (Priest).

Father Forbes so often says that he welcomes new ministries and Parish activities, but only if parishioners step forward and provide leadership.

If you want to live your Faith by becoming involved, please contact: Faith Formation/Stewardship at 295-6550, ext. 130.

MATTHEW 25 MINISTRY……. welcomes current members and interested persons to attend a July 18 th meeting at 8:30am. We are now able to visit our beloved elderly. For the past year, this ministry has not been able to visit parishioners who reside in long term care. We are in the process of re-activating our involvement, visiting, participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and offering supportive activities to those who no longer live in their own homes. This is truly a Christian work, following Christ who so often reached out and touched the souls of persons who are lonely, and often without emotional support. If you have questions and are interested you may contact the ministry leader, Deacon Greg Cross at 315-427-4622. PLAN TO ATTEND THE MEETING AND LIVE YOUR BAPTISMAL PROMISES.
