COVID-19 PANDEMIC RELIEF PROGRAM MCO, CMCO & RMCO 18 March ~ 31 August 2020

1. Reaching Out to Hundreds of Families with Children - local and migrant families located in , , Selesa Jaya, Larkin, , , , Johor Jaya, Seri Alam, Masai and .

2. 30% of Members’ Participation - Fund Raising - Organizing & Coordination

3. Fund Raised - RM 4,080.00 from sales of Multigrain Crackers - RM 2,800.00 donations collected for purchase of food provisions - RM 500.00 online to MBB Project Bank A/C from donor - RM10,671.71 KCF Covid-19 Response Program Grant (US$2,500) RM18,051.71

4. Total Amount Used - RM 6.800.00 for 1,000pcs N95 Masks for HSA Frontliners - RM 5,800.00 for purchase of food provisions - RM10,690.34 for the beneficiaries of KCF Covid-19 grant RM23,290.34

KCJB’s immediate response when Malaysia announced 2020 Movement Control Order (MCO) in mid-March 2020 was to SERVE THE CHILDREN IN LOCAL COMMUNITY and prompted as follows:-

1. FOOD DRIVE – Children’s basic needs such as food, education and health when their parents / guardians lost their source of income and jobs

2. FINANCES – No fund raising events to raise funds

3. STAY SAFE – 60% of KCJB’s members are above age 50 years (mortality rate for COVID-19 by age group and underlying health condition to be considered)

Action Not Words:-

1. STAPLE FOOD SUPPLIES – to purchase at the lowest cost to stretch every MYR worth and to deliver to the needy timely

2. FUND RAISING DRIVE – calls for donation from the Club’s members, families and friends

3. PARTNERS IN SERVING – partnering with other organizations To Reach Out via their existing networks and database, namely Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Kechara Food Bank and Cathedral Sacred Heart of Jesus church shelter.

Actions have begun in March 2020 WIN & WIN program There were some sponsored 72 cartons x 6tins 520gm ‘Lee’ Multigrain Crackers balance from our annual grand CNY Senior Citizen Luncheon; 68 cartons were sold to members and Kiwanis friends @ RM60.00/carton raising RM4,080.00

WIN No: 1 25 March 2020, 4 cartons (24 tins) of crackers were donated to the orphanage at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Shan De Johor Bahru at Taman Pelangi, 80050 Johor Bahru;

WIN No: 2 Total fund raised RM4,080.00 from the sales of 68 cartons of crackers @RM60.00/ctn; the fund was used to subsidize for the purchase of 1,000 pieces N95 mask amounting RM6,800.00 for the frontliners at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru;

WIN No: 3 45 cartons (270 tins) & 5 cartons (30 tins) were donated to the

Kechara Food Bank &

Cathedral Sacred Heart Of Jesus church for the needy.

14 Apr Catheral Sacred Heart of Jesus (SHJ) - Collected cash donation RM1,800 from 24 Apr Kiwanis's family members to purchase staple food and provisions – 350kg of rice, 20 28 Apr bottles x 2kg cooking oil, 205packets x6 Maggi noodles & canned food) for their 2020 pantry

Kechara Food Bank - Donated & delivered RM3,000 worth of staple food supplies (650kg rice, 100bottles x2kg cooking oil, 100 packets x6 Maggi noodles, 100 packets 4 May x500gm Nestrum cereals) to their local pantry at 4, Jalan Setia 3/6, Taman Setia 2020 Indah, 81100 Johor Bahru - distribution to 43 hardcore poor families located in Pekan Nenas on 9 May 2020 by their volunteers & many others in Larkin, , Seri Alam low cost flats

Kiwanis Children’s Fund – Covid 19 Response Program Grant USD2,500.00

20 May 2020 TT Remittance received amounting RM10,671.71 for the below beneficiaries:-

1 . USD 800.00 (~RM3,200) - Donate to local pantry of Kechara Food Bank at 4, Jalan Setia 3/6. Taman

Setia Indah, 81100 Johor Bahru;

2. USD 500.00 (~RM2,000) - Donate to local pantry of Malaysian Red Crescent Society at 66, Jalan

Yahya Awal, 80100 Johor Bahru;

3. USD 200.00 (~RM800)- Donate to local pantry of Cathedral Sacred Heart of Jesus at 1729, Jalan

Keris, Taman Sri Tebrau, 80500 Johor Bahru;

4. USD 300.00 (~RM1200)- Transportation subsidies to financially affected parents for our down syndrome children to come to the Centre;

5. USD 500.00 (~RM2,000)- Financial aids for children's education needs whose parents have lost their source of income;

6. USD 200.00 (~RM800) - Financial aids to the individuals who require medical assistance

When the lockdown was lifted, RMCO 10 June ~ 31 August 2020, he resumes his canteen store in a commercial mall but is badly affected as many offices have their employees working from home to comply with the social distancing SOP.

USD200 - Financial aid to the individuals who require medical assistance 24 July Presentation of cheque No: 2020 MBB 958211 amounting RM900.00 to Madam Loh Lee Choo, single mother with 2 children age 9 & 10 years old who lost her job as an assistant to the ‘Pasar Malam’ vendor is suffering from depression and eye sight blurriness.

29 July USD500 - Transportation subsidies to financially affected parents for our down 2020 syndrome children to come to the Centre Presentation of cheque No: MBB 958210 amounting RM1,500.00 to head teacher of Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation – Johor Bahru Centre to reimburse two mothers for transport charges to encourage them to continue bringing their kids to the centre despite the financial challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic for the school term from 3 August ~ 18 December 2020
