Dear Parent/Carer,

In light of the recent decisions by the government, our school along with many services is finding itself with reduced capacity. We will continue to update our website as well as our Facebook page with any further updates and would encourage parents to check back daily.

However, to support the children during a potential period of closure each year group has created the following pages of age appropriate work to support children with their learning away from school. We would of course expect children to continue to read daily. However, at the moment the school is doing everything it can to remain open.

There are numerous educational websites that we would also recommend and these are on the back page of the booklet – many of which are temporally free to support children with their education whilst schools remain closed. We are exploring online ways to support learning should this closure last for a prolonged period. These booklets as well as links to education websites will also be available on our own school website.

Everyone should be mindful of the general advice to prevent the spread of infection, most importantly: washing hands regularly and catching coughs and sneezes in a tissue and binning it. Please remember that anyone who develops symptoms should call NHS 111 and follow their advice. It is important to note that anyone with specific medical conditions that may make them more vulnerable to the effects of a respiratory infection should be especially vigilant.

If you have further questions or concerns, the Department for Education has launched an advice line and email address:

Phone: 0800 046 8687 Email: [email protected]

If you have Safeguarding concerns relating to a child we urge you to contact MASH. Contact details are on the Safeguarding page of our website. The school office will not be manned during any period of closure and voicemails or emails will not be regularly picked up.

We hope all members of our school community continue to stay safe and health.

Your sincerely,

Mrs Farrelly Principal Gossops Green Primary School Year 3 Home Learning Grid

Websites Below are some useful websites to support your child’s home-learning. Some of the websites we currently use in school and children may need a username and password to access them. Others are offering free subscriptions. Please support your child to choose activities appropriate for their age and ability.

If children access any websites, or use electronic devices during self-isolation, please ensure you have discussed ‘online safety’ expectations with your child and you are aware of what they are accessing online. Children should not share personal information, and need regular screen breaks. There is more information about how to stay safe online at https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/
