Collection sites are designated by purple diamonds (not including the Placerville and Yosemite sites, which are for reference only). Cone collections were funded by the USDA, Forest Service-Washington Office, Forest Health Management, and coordinated by the PSW Research Station, Institute of Forest Genetics, Placerville, CA, in collaboration with Nevada, California, and Utah National Forests, Great Basin National Park, the Bureau of Land Management, and Nevada and California State Parks. Seed extraction, processing, and packaging were performed at the Institute of Forest Genetics, for accession to the USDA, ARS, National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation, Ft. Collins, CO; seed in excess of NCGRP needs are stored at the Institute of Forest Genetics in Placerville, CA.
