Local and Statewide Scholarships ● ICAN Scholarship Database ○ Various Deadlines ● Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship ○ A state-funded program for Iowans who: ■ Are new high school graduates starting college full-time or adult learners starting college at least part-time ■ Have applied for all other available aid ■ Plan to earn a credential for a high-demand job ○ Deadline - July 1, 2020 ● Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarships ○ Various Deadlines and Eligibilities ● Iowa Financial Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship ○ To qualify for the scholarship, students must: ■ Register online Oct. 15, 2019–Feb. 21, 2020. ■ Complete two online financial literacy tutorials and a related online assessment created by Iowa Student Loan. ● Elks National Foundation Scholarship Program ○ For the 2020 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2017, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2017, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2020. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. ○ The applicant must be a high school senior. ○ The applicant must apply online only. ○ If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge. ○ Applicants must take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) in time to received their scores before the application deadline by December 31, 2019. ○ Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student qualifies for more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Taylor Scholarship ○ Deadline - February 1, 2020 ● Drake Physics Prize ○ Any, student, freshman - senior year can apply ○ Applicant must take an exam covering opics normall studied in the first semester of high school physics ○ Must be registered by Monday, February 3, 2020 by 1:00 PM ○ Please see Ms. Eakins in the counseling office ● Sons & Daughters Scholarships - Sponsored by Pella Corporation ○ Applicant must be a son or daughter of an employee (includes adopted children and stepchildren who reside with employee, and children whose legal guardian is an employee) who has completed one or more years of continuous service by January 1, 2020, and is actively employed on March 31, 2020, at the following locations ■ Pella Corporation (includes Pella-owned manufacturing sites), Bonelli, Duratherm, Grabill, Reilly, or one of the Pella-owned sales subsidiaries located in Chicago, Detroit, Hawaii-Southern California, Jacksonville, Orlando, Rockford, Seattle, and West Caldwell. ○ Sons and daughters of deceased or retired employees with one or more years of continuous employment and who were full-time employees at the time of death or retirement are also eligible to apply. ○ Applicants must be graduating high school seniors within the United States. ○ Minimum 2.5 GPA ○ Deadline- February 11, 2020 ● Iowa Newspaper Foundation (INF) Scholarship ○ Deadline - February 14, 2020 ● Conservation Districts of Iowa Scholarships ○ Deadline - February 14, 2020 ■ Applicants must submit their scholarship applications to the SWCD Office in the county which they reside in. Visit https://idals.iowa.gov/FARMS/index.php/districtMap and select your county on the map to locate your county SWCD Office. ● Fahrney Education Foundation Trust ○ Applicant must be a current resident of Wapello County, Iowa. ○ Applicant must have resided in Wapello County for 1 or more years. ○ Applicant must be attending a college/university in Iowa. ○ Applicant must be enrolled in a full-time course of study in a 2-year Iowa college associate of arts or science program leading to a 4-year course of study and bachelor degree OR enrolled in a 4-year accredited Iowa college or university leading toward a bachelor degree or post-graduate degree. ○ Deadline - February 15, 2020 ● Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship ○ Scholarship requirements can be found on the last pages of the application ○ An additional scholarship will be awarded to a Wapello County resident ■ Edward W. & Isabelle M. Klodt Memorial Scholarship ■ Same requirements as the Federation Scholarship ○ Deadline - February 28, 2020 ● Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship ○ Applicant must be: ■ A high-school senior employed with Hy-Vee (office, distribution, retail) or subsidiary locations who began employment on or before September 15, 2019 or a high school senior son or daughter of a full-, regular-, or part-time Hy-Vee or subsidiary employee who has a minimum of six months employment as of September 15, 2019. ○ Deadline - Must be postmarked by February 28, 2020 ● The Mary I. Fitzgerald Scholarship Program ○ The Iowa Grocers Education Foundation (IGEF) will award $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduate students who are children of full-time employees or $1,500 scholarships to students who are full-time or part-time employees of firms that are members of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA). ○ Deadlline - March 1, 2020 ● J. Ralph and Gladys Meier Scholarship Trust ○ This trust was created exclusively for educational purposes. It allows students who have graduated or will graduate from high schools in Wapello, Keokuk, and Mahaska counties and who are scholastically ranked in the upper one half of their graduation class to apply for the scholarship. ○ Deadline- postmarked by March 1, 2020 ● Edward J. Schwartz Perpetual Educational Trust Foundation Scholarship ○ Applicants must live in Wapello County ○ Applicant must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate course study at St. Ambrose University, University of Iowa, Iowa State University, or the University of Northern Iowa. ○ Deadline - March
