SHADOWLIGHT PRODUCTIONS

In 2011 ACC enabled members of ShadowLight Productions to travel to Hokkaido and Tokyo, Japan to develop a new theater work in collaboration with Japan–United States Japanese and Ainu performing artists. “The timing and the amount of the ACC Arts Program Fellowship grant were crucial in the success of this first phase of development, ensuring resources for our collaborators to fully concentrate on the project for an extended period of time. With each project this method proves hugely rewarding as it builds strong alliances among artists and creates projects that unveil unique aspects of the cultures we are working with, and, most importantly, it gives us a chance to contemplate our places and responsibilities in the modern world.”
