EZE GROUP DARTS STARS GEARING up for TV EVENTS Submitted By: Fleet Street Communications Wednesday, 4 November 2015 EZE GROUP DARTS STARS GEARING UP FOR TV EVENTS Submitted by: Fleet Street Communications Wednesday, 4 November 2015 EZE Group sponsored darts stars are appearing in two further TV events this month after coverage of last weekend’s European Championship, where James Wade and Simon Whitlock reached the last 16. Eight time major winner Wade and world number six Robert Thornton, who won the World Grand Prix in front of TV cameras last month, will both be competing at the Grand Slam of Darts next week. The tournament begins on Saturday and the draw, in which both players were seeded as members of the world’s top eight, saw Wade placed in Group F with Keegan Brown, Mark Webster and Michael van der Hoorst, while Thornton heads up Group G alongside Terry Jenkins, Jonny Clayton and Geert de Vos. A week after the conclusion of the Grand Slam, the duo will be joined by Australian ace Whitlock in Scotland in the World Series of Darts finals. Both tournaments provide a chance for our men to add to their major title haul. They currently hold twelve major successes between them. Former European Champion Whitlock showed signs of a return to form at last weekend’s staging of the tournament in Belgium with a comfortable victory over Magnus Caris before running eventual runner-up Gary Anderson close in the last 16. Wade, who defeated Terry Jenkins in the first round, and Thornton were denied by quarter-finalists Jelle Klaasen and John Henderson respectively. The Grand Slam of Darts begins with the opening group matches on Saturday November 7, with the second group matches on Sunday November 8 before the final group games take place on Monday November 9 and Tuesday November 10. The top two players from each group then progress to the knockout last 16, with the second round being split across Wednesday November 11 and Thursday November 12. The quarter-finals are then played on Friday November 13 and Saturday November 14 before the tournament concludes on Sunday November 15 with the semi-finals in the afternoon session and the final in the evening session.     Pressemitteilung 17. Oktober 2017 Michael van Gerwen gewinnt European Darts Trophy In Göttingen zeigt Final-Gegner Rob Cross, dass mit ihm zu rechnen ist Göttingen. Wächst da ein neuer Herausforderer heran für den Dart-Dominator Michael van Gerwen? Es scheint so, denn mit Rob Cross spielt sich mehr und mehr ein Mann in den Mittelpunkt, der dem Niederländer mittelfristig Konkurrenz machen kann. Bei der HappyBet European Darts Trophy (EDT) 2017 in der Lokhalle Göttingen jedenfalls bot Cross der Nummer 1 der Welt ein großes Finale. Letztlich siegte Michael van Gerwen mit 6:4 nach einer für ihn so typischen Willensleistung, Rob Cross demonstrierte aber eindrucksvoll mit seiner Ruhe, dass mit ihm zu rechnen sein wird. Der Weltranglisten-Erste Michael van Gerwen feierte in Göttingen seinen 20 European-Tour-Titel und damit bereits den sechsten der diesjährigen Tour. Zum Abschluss der Saison wurde in der Lokhalle der Zuschauerrekord für ein Darts-Event in Deutschland gebrochen. In der Abendsession waren über 3500 Zuschauer anwesend. „Es war ein hartes Finale, Rob hat mich mehr gefordert als alle anderen Gegner“, so van Gerwen. „Vielen Dank an das tolle Publikum.“ „Mighty Mike“ bezwang auf seinem Weg in das Endspiel Zoran Lerchbacher (6:3), Stephen Bunting (6:1), Joe Cullen (6:0) und Simon Whitlock (6:1). Lediglich gegen Lerchbacher wwar van Gerwen nicht ganz auf der Höhe seines Leistungsvermögens, danach war er schlicht und ergreifend nicht mehr zu schlagen. Vom 26. bis zum 29. Oktober findet die Europameisterschaft in Hasselt statt, für die sich die 32 besten Spieler der diesjährigen European-Tour qualifizieren. Darunter auch Martin Schindler, der es in Göttingen in die zweite Runde, wo er Peter Wright mit 4:6 unterlag.
