About Us Welcome to Government First Grade College, Athani Dist. Belgavai, Karnataka, .

The college was established in the year 2007 as a part of government policy to reach higher education to every one of this zone.

Athani is a city next to Gokak in the of Karnataka, India. It is 140 kilometers from the city of Belagavi, 70 kilometers from Vijayapura, 55 kilometers from Sangli, 100 kilometers from Kolhapur, and 624 kilometers from Bengaluru. The main profession here is agriculture, particularly sugarcane, , and grapes. The river Krishna flows 110 km around the southern part of Athani Taluk. The city 10 km from river Krishna. It is the largest sugar production Taluk in Karnataka. It is famous for leather chappals. Athani is the oldest municipal town of Karnataka. It is well known for Historical and Religious places likes Gachhinamath, Shiddeswar Temple, Amruthaingeswar Temple, Kilegavi Basavanna temple, Ramtirth Rameshwar temple, Spata Sagar Garden. Sri Shivyogi Murughendra Swamiji is a great saint of Athani who followed the BASAV TATVA and gave Ling Diksha to Haradekar Manjappa who is known as Gandhi of Karnataka.

This college is engaged to maintain the quality in higher education by providing opportunity to the rural and urban students. The college was started with 96 students initially with BA and BCOM and now at present 1480 students are pursuing their higher education in different classes namely B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc courses. The College has 5 acres of own land. The physical infrastructure of the college is at the sufficient stage. College has 11 class rooms. The additional 16 class rooms are under construction and will available for academic use very soon. At present the college have 06 permanent teaching faculty and 62 guest lecturers for teaching various subjects which were affiliated to the Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. We don't have non-teaching staffs. Our students results are quite well and our staff is striving very hard work in order to improve the quality education. As a part of equity initiatives the institution plans for opening an equal opportunity cell, conduct remedial classes and equity, gender sensitization campaigns and to provide stipend and scholarship for socially and economically backward students. As a part of student support activity, the institution is providing training in soft skills, life skills, spoken English and other skill development programmes which have been initiated by our Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka

Code of conduct for Students

At the time of admission, each student must sign a statement accepting following Codes (not limited to) and by giving an undertaking that

 He / She shall be regular and must complete his/her studies in the College.  In the event, a student is forced to discontinue studies for any legitimate reason, such a student may be relieved from the College subject to written consent of the Principal  As a result of such relieving, the student shall be required to clear pending dues.  College believes in promoting a safe and efficient climate by enforcing behavioural standards. All students must uphold academic integrity, respect all persons and their rights and property and safety of others; etc.  All students must deter from indulging in any and all forms of misconduct including partaking in any activity off-campus which can affect the College interests and reputation substantially.  Students are expected not to interact, on behalf of the College, with median representatives or invite media persons on to the campus without the permission of the College authorities.  Students are not permitted to either audio or video record lectures in class rooms or actions of other students, faculty, or staff without prior permission.  Students are not permitted to provide audio and video clippings of any activity on the campus to media without prior permission.  Students are expected to use the social media carefully and responsibly.  They cannot post derogatory comments about other individuals from the College on the social media or indulging in any such related activities having grave ramifications on the reputation of the College.  Theft or abuse of the College computers and other electronic resources such as computer and electronic communications facilities, systems, and services which includes unauthorized entry , use, tamper, etc. of College property or facilities, private residences of staff/professors etc. offices, classrooms, computers networks, and other restricted facilities and interference with the work of others is punishable.  Damage to, or destruction of, any property of the College, or any property of others on the College premises.  Making a video/audio recording, taking photographs, or streaming audio/video of any person in a location where the person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without that person’s knowledge and express consent.  Indulging in any form of Harassment which is defined as a conduct that is severe and objectively, a conduct that is motivated on the basis of a person’s race, colour, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition,  If there is a case against a student for a possible breach of code of conduct, then a committee will be formed to recommend a suitable disciplinary action who shall inquire into the alleged violation and accordingly suggest the action to be taken against the said student. . The committee may meet with the student to ascertain the misconduct and suggest one or more of the following disciplinary actions based on the nature of misconduct. o WARNING, o RESTRICTIONS, o COMMUNITY, o EXPULSION, o MONETARY PENALTY,  Additionally, the student will be forbidden to use various College facilities unless permission is obtained from the Competent Authority.
