Since the work of J.J. Heckel (1846-1849), the number of valid species has increased significantly and the systematic status of many of the species has changed, and reorganization and updating of the published information has become essential. Here we take the opportunity to provide a new and updated checklist of freshwater fishes of Iran based on literature and taxon occurrence data obtained from natural history and new fish collections. This article lists 288 species in 107 genera, 28 families, 22 orders and 3 classes reported from different Iranian basins. However, presence of 23 reported species in Iranian waters needs confirmation by specimens. -
Report of Field Trip (Guilan Province from 14 to 17 October 2019)
Third Plenary Conference and Field Trip of INQUA IFG 1709F Ponto-Caspian Stratigraphy and Geochronology Report of field trip (Guilan Province from 14 to 17 October 2019) First Day, 14 October 2019 Stations: (Manjil, Totkabon (Rashi cave), Rasht) On Monday, at 7:30 AM the group traveled to the Gilan province. The first station was Manjil City for visiting Manjil Dam and geology Formations (Shemshak formation) in Mnajil. Dr. Nazari from Geological Survey of Iran described that how the formations were formed and some short descriptions about its tectonic plate. The second station had been located in the Totkabon (near the Ruodbar city). After having lunch near the Rashi village, the group led by Dr. Biglari from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts moved to the Rashi cave. At 8:00 PM, the team accommodated in their Hotel and hostel in Rasht. Second day, 15 October 2019: Stations: Fuman city, Masuleh village On Tuesday, 15 October 2019, field work started at the 8:30 AM. The team traveled to near Rasht City to visit old beach deposition and to the Fuman city for visiting Qale-Rudkhan Castle that is located 25 km southwest of Fuman city. And it is built on two tips of a mount, with an area of 2.6 hectare at the elevations of 715 and 670 meters. To get to the Qale - Rudkhan Castle, the group had to climbed approximately 1000 steps. On Tuesday afternoon, team went to Masuleh for visiting old village. (Also, at night a city tour was organized by the Guilan University). -

Despite efforts to prevent the spread of the disease, cases continue worldwide. In Iran, the disease usually occurs in children under 10 years. In the absence of timely diagnosis and treatment, the mortality rate is 95–100%. The main objective of this study was to determine the spatial and temporal distribution of visceral leishmaniasis as well as its correlation with climatic factors for determining high-risk areas in an endemic focus in northwestern Iran. -

The bird names have been listed and classified according to the scientific codes. An etymological study has been presented for scientific names, including genus and species. If it was possible we have provided the etymology of Persian and Gilaki native names of the birds. According to our best knowledge, there was no previous report gathering and describing the ornithological fauna of this part of the world. Gilan province, due to its meteorological circumstances and the richness of its animal life has harbored a wide range of animals. Therefore, the nomenclature system used by the natives for naming the animals, specially birds, has a prominent stance in this country. Many of these local and dialectal names of the birds have been entered into standard language of the country (Persian language). The study has presented majority of comprehensive list of the Gilaki bird names, categorized according to the ornithological classifications. -
Assessing Chlorophyll-A in the Southwestern Coastal Waters of the Caspian Sea

All rights reserved. Abstract Caspian Sea with an average depth of 27m is the largest enclosed water body in the world. Despite its enormity and valuable biotic and economic resources, investigations on the biota and seawater properties are mosaic at best. In previous studies, the monitoring of the chlorophyll-a concentrations in the Southern Caspian Sea was organized based on satellite data sets; however, vertical distribution of chlorophyll-a concentrations and its variations in deeper layers of the southern Caspian seawater are not well known. The aim of this research was to study the variations of seasonal distributions of chlorophyll-a near Anzali Port in northern Iran. Data collection was performed at 23 stations, 2 km apart, along four survey lines perpendicular to the coastline and two transects parallel to the coast every season using a research vessel. Field measurements in the study area were carried out. A portable CTD probe was applied for profiling from sea surface to bottom. Results of seasonal field measurements showed variations of the seawater properties (e.g. temperature, salinity, density and chlorophyll-a). Maximum depth of the profiling stations was more than 470 m and vertical structure of temperature in the southern Caspian Sea waters with a significant seasonal thermocline between 20-50 m depths in summer with a vertical difference of 16oC were characterized. -

Environmental Research Institute, Academic Center for Education, Culture & Research, Iran *Email Address : [email protected] Received: (April - 7-2020) Accepted: (May - 5 -2020) Abstract This study was conducted to perform the most parameters of weather data for current and future climate in the Arasbaran forest area including precipitation and temperature. The base climate data contained daily precipitation, minimum temperatures, and maximum temperatures parameters of four weather stations. The LARS-WG was used to simulation based on the historical climate data from 2000 to 2017 and data generating for future climate forecasting was evaluate for 2018-2030. Then, the model was evaluated after assessing the model ability in each station for all four stations by comparing the monthly means and variances of observed and generated data in all stations. From the results, the study found that the precipitation level would increase in the study area. In the case of minimum and maximum temperatures, the minimum temperature would decrease 0.2-0.3 °C in Jolfa station and will increase 0.1-0.2 °C in Tabriz and 4.5-4.6 °C in Kaleybar stations. In addition, the maximum temperature would increase 0.1-0.2 °C at both in the study area. -

Introduction and philosophy: According to the collaboration between Iran federation and UIAA, Iran won the nomination for holding youth camp of 2015, 2016 and 2017. The first camp was held successfully in Damavand Mount, 5671 meters; also the Second camp was held based on technical climb in Sabalan mount. As a result, the Youth Commission voted again for hosting this international event in Iran for 2017. In 2016 our commissions successfully hosted 22 participants from 7 different Asian and Europian countries, such as great members of Afghanistan federation, president of this organization, named Sedigheh Norestani, and participants from Island, India and Turkey; and 94 Iranian climbers including members of Youth National Team. The youth camp was held in Iran to maintain these purposes: • A chance for youth climbers to become familiar with Iran’s nature and social environment. • Getting to know mountains and continent of Iran. • Sharing cultural differences and experience cultural and social exchange. • Teaching Ice and snow techniques with experienced instructors. • Creating significant communication between Iran youth climbers and foreign climbers. • Obtaining international status in UIAA and among related commissions. Damavand 5671 meter High, magnificent adventure spot, sub active volcano Mt. Damavand is highest peak of Iran and the most prominent feature of Iran looming majestically near the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, also highest point in Middle East. The highest volcano of the Asia is well-known for its volcanic crater and very unique wild flowers named as Mountain Tulip (Tulipa Montana). You can see this special flower mainly in June. Mt Damavand 5671m has a narrow summit crater with permanent snowcap which surrounded by eye-catching peaks of Alborz Mountain range. -

Sociology is, by common consent, the most ambitious advocate of modern society. In other words, it undertakes to develop an understanding of modern existence in terms of breakthroughs from ancient cosmological cultures to ordered and plural civic life based on the gradual subsiding of communal life. Thus, within this undertaking, the sociological project of modernity figures as the cultural machine that dislodges the rationale of social being from local, communal, hierarchic contexts into the logic of individualism and social differentiation. The conventional wisdom of sociology has been challenged by post-modern debate, abolishing this dichotomous evolutionism while embracing a more heterogeneous view of coexistence and exchange between local cultures and modern institutions. Islam, however, is often described as a different cultural machine for the holistic reproduction of pre-modern religion, and Muslims are seen as community-bound social actors embodying a powerful potential for the rejec- tion of and opposition to Western modernity. Sociologists insist on looking for social differentiation and cultural differ- ences. However, their concepts remain evolutionist and inherently tied to the cultural machine of modernity. The Yearbook of the Sociology of Islam takes these antinomies and contradic- tions as a challenge. -

Anaplasmosis is generally caused by intraerythrocytic rickettsia of Anaplasma genus and transmitted biologically and mechanically. The current study was designed to determine the prevalence of Anaplasma spp. in cattle in Talesh; one of the rainy Iranian counties in Gilan province, Iran. From May to November 2015, one hundred and fifty blood samples of cattle were collected from different regions in Talesh. DNA was extracted from blood samples and subsequently, 16S rRNA and MSP4 genes were analysed by Nested-PCR method for differentiation of Anaplasma spp. The results showed that 40.66% of blood samples were positive for Anaplasma spp. and that 24.66%, 35.33%, 9.33% and 12% of positive samples were infected with A. phagocytophilum, A. bovis, A. marginale and A. centrale respectively. Statistical analysis by Chi-square test did not show any significant rela- tionship between the presence of Anaplasma species and variables sex, age and tick infestation (P˃0.05). -
