Congratulations to our new Head Girl and Head Boy

Taylor Harris Sam Ravenscroft

Also to their deputies

Georgia Smith Sam Gibbins

This term we had the pleasure of appointing our new Head Boy and Head Girl and their Deputies for next academic year. We had a number of excellent students who were selected as Prefect Team Leaders who chose to run for election. Each student delivered their election speech to other student leaders in the school and a student vote followed. The passion, skill and character shown by all of the candidates was outstanding and they all proved themselves to be brave and worthy students. The staff who attended the elections felt a strong sense of pride as the students delivered their thoughtful and inspiring speeches with assurance ensuring the student leaders had a very difficult task ahead of them. The vote was incredibly close and we would like to introduce you to the students who triumphed and will take on these invaluable and prestigious roles next year.

We have recently had some concerns from the community regarding students riding bikes to and from school in an unsafe manner. We have also received concerns about students riding in large groups around the local area creating hazardous situations that we fear will result in someone being badly injured or worse.

If your child uses their bike to journey to and from school, please support us in ensuring that they are biking responsibly. They must not perform wheelies, weave on and off the road behind and in front of cars, use their mobile phones and/or travel at an unsafe speed whilst riding their bikes. We also recommend that students wear helmets.

Don’t forget to remind students that they can cash in their reward points! Students are awarded merit points by their teachers for a variety of reasons and the points are added to their MyChild account. Points can be cashed in for items in our Reward Shop that stocks a number of items. Students can save their points towards a Prom ticket in Yr11 or may choose to cash them in for items of stationery or even a cake from the school canteen. Below are instructions showing students how they can access their merit points and cash them in.

Firstly log in to My Child through the school website. This will take you to the school shop shown below. Then click on Behaviour (in the bar at the top of the page) and three icons will appear. Click on the Cash in icon (second image below).

You will be taken to a page that shows the points you have already cashed in and the points you have available to cash in as below. Click on the green ADD button.

You will then be taken to the screen below that shows you available points and items in the

You will notice that the products that you have enough points to purchase have a green Cash in box next to them as below. If you want to cash in your points for one of these products – click on the Cash in green button.

The following screen will appear. Click Ok if you want to continue or click cancel if you have changed your mind.

You will be taken back to an earlier screen and will notice that the product you have pur- chased appears in the cashed in list (see below). You can now click the green ADD button to purchase more products or log out.
