Massachusetts Executive Office The young people competing in today’s of Energy and Envirothon are truly the leaders of tomorrow. Environmental Affairs The Massachusetts State Grange is proud to be a sponsor of the 2019 Massachusetts Envirothon. Massachusetts Envirothon History The Mass. Envirothon has been educating young people about the environment for 32 years. When the Envirothon program started in 1979 in Pennsylvania it was known as the Environmental Olympics. In 1988, the name was changed to the Envirothon. That year, the first Mass. Envirothon was held. Five teams participated in the competition at Buck Hill Conservation Land in Spencer, Mass. Here’s a snapshot of past Mass. The mission of the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools Program is to activate youth around the country in an effort to develop school communities where all young people are agents of change – fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities by utilizing the programs and initiatives of Special Olympics. The activities and opportunities provided through the Unified Champion Schools Program help to reduce bullying and exclusion, promote healthy activity and interactions, combat stereotypes and stigma, eliminate hurtful language in schools and engage people in social activities that lead to personal growth.
