Pleasant Valley Hall of Fame Biographical Information 2014 – 2015 Our first inductee to the 2015 Pleasant Valley Hall of Fame: Mr. Anthony A. Fadule Tony received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University in 1980, and his Master’s Degree from Lehigh University in 1982. Tony also attended ESU for post graduate degree courses. Tony was an Assistant Principal for 4 years and the Assistant Superintendent for 18 Years here @ Pleasant Valley. Honors Received Tony graduated from Hazleton High School in 1976. He was a 2 year letter winner in basketball and baseball and was also vice president of the National Honor Society while at Hazleton High School. While @ Pleasant Valley, Tony was a 6 year winner of the United Way of Monroe County Education Division Service Award. He was also the recipient of the Department of Defense National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Award Community Service As far as community service goes, Tony was involved in the following committees: The Monroe County Sesqui-Centennial Committee, The United Way of Monroe County, Pleasant Valley School District PTO’s, and he also served on many different Pleasant Valley School District Administrative Team projects. Tony had the privilege of serving under 5 of the 6 superintendents who were employed by the Pleasant Valley School District. These included Dr. John Nye, Mr. Kenneth Reid, Dr. Frank Pullo, Dr. Doug Arnold and Ms. Carole Geary. Tony Retired from the Pleasant Valley School District in 2013. Tony currently resides in Hazle Township, PA with his wife Jean of 28 years. He also has 2 children. Congratulations to Anthony A. Fadule! Our 2nd inductee to the 2015 Pleasant Valley Hall of Fame: Mr. Stephen Kun Steve graduated from Palmerton High School in 1961. He attended University of Wichita and East Stroudsburg University where he graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s degree in Health and Phys. Ed. Honors Received Steve was a Health and Physical Education teacher at Pleasant Valley for 29 years. He also was the head coach for the Pleasant Valley Football team from 1969 through 1973. He also coached wrestling, and track for a number of years here at Pleasant Valley. While in high school at Palmerton, Steve was captain of the football team for 2 years and he was also a 4 year letter winner in Track and Field. Steve was inducted into the Pennsylvania Carbon County Chapter of Football Sports Hall of Fame as well as the East Stroudsburg University Hall of Fame for the 1964 and 1965 football team. Steve currently resides in Palmerton PA. He was married to Sandy whom he shared 30 years until her passing in 1998. He has a daughter named Melissa. Steve retired from Pleasant Valley in 1996. Congratulations to Mr. Stephen Kun! Our last inductee this evening to the 2015 Pleasant Valley Hall of Fame: Mr. George Litz George graduated from Hughestown High School in 1954. George served in the US Army over in Germany from 1954 through 1957. George then attended the University of Scranton and graduated with a BS in Science in 1965. He then attended East Stroudsburg University and acquired his certification in Health and Physical Education in 1975. Honors Received/Academic Achievement While at Pleasant Valley, George received a certificate of recognition for his work in establishing Pleasant Valley’s SADD program of which he was the advisor for many years. He was also the head boys’ basketball coach for 5 years here at Pleasant Valley. George initiated the Greater Pocono Youth Basketball program in 1972 for 2 divisions, 5th and 6th as well as the 7th and 8th grade divisions. There were 6 teams and presently today there are 45 teams. This tournament is presently known as the Greater Pocono Tournament. George was also the Pocono Record Boys Basketball Coach of the Year for the 1973 – 1974 season. George currently resides in Cresco, PA. He was married to Sheila with whom he shared 45 years until her passing in 2004. He has 4 children and he retired from Pleasant Valley in 1998. Congratulations to Mr. George Litz! .
