Mrs. Bilbo–Ervin speaks on this school year

How are you this year Ms. Bilbo?

-I’m fine, busy as usual but fine

How do you feel about the school year so far?

-So far so good, I think we’re off to a good start. I’ve been visiting the classrooms and teachers seem ready to teach and kids seem eager to learn. I’ve got some stress coming up with making sure everything is underway for our new building so that kind of like my big stress and making sure that kids who failed the EOC exams have an opportunity to retest in December so that’s also one of my stresses that I have right now. But I think we’re off to a good start.

What do you think can be improved?

-I believe our level of parental involvement and student involvement can be improved. I think for students go get what school is really about you have to be invested in it and I feel the majority of our kids are not really invested in it. I would like to see more parents push themselves and push their kids to be more invested in the school.

A cloud passes over head Like a song on repeat

My heartbeat quickens As the sun shines bright for such a terrible day

I can’t accept it yet. So I fight it instead. Oblivious, ignoring the fact that we lost some one in a terrible way. I feel like my spirits are lifting. I reflected on our memories, our dreams are fun. My body and my mind are leaving too I’m not quite sure if she knew my love for her wasn’t done My body is numb, I wonder if she saw me with her last breath. And I’m not sure what to do.
