Work on the trailhead for the Beerburrum ‘Rail to Trail’, a first for the region, begins next year. When complete, it will mark the start of a Glasshouse Mountains Park experience that connects the town with a new track up Mt Beerburrum, and a new class five trail that meets the Trachyte Circuit. Interpretive signage will bring alive the heartbreaking soldier settlement story and the historically important 1799 Flinders / Bongaree expedition. To further preserve our story, council funding has assisted Peachester Historical Committee to fit out a new archive room.

New landowners braved the cool July night to meet their neighbours and neigh- bours-to-be over dinner, an activity as important as building a Image: Avid PropertyImage: Avid Group new home. Kudos to Kawana Forest’s new IRT committee who are promoting their community needs to council, and the KaFRA committee for connecting local families through the ‘Kids Sport in the Park’ program. We get more done by working together!
