Grown Up Movie Star tells the story of disgraced NHL star Ray (Doyle) and his precocious daughters Ruby (Maslany) and Rose (Julia Kennedy). Once the town hero, Ray has returned home to Newfoundland from the US following a drug conviction, only to have his wife Lillian leave him for another man and aspirations of stardom. With Lillian gone, Ray flails from woman to woman trying to find a replacement for her, while struggling against a growing awareness of his homosexuality. At loose ends for lack of guidance, Ruby in turn is becoming increasingly curious about her own sexuality and, in a desperate plea for attention, putting herself in increasingly risky situations. She begins spending more and more time with Ray’s best friend Stuart, confined to a wheelchair following an accident that involved Ray. When Stuart finds himself attracted to Ruby, he leads the three of them towards a heartbreaking conclusion. -

Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Down to the Dirt by Joel Thomas Hynes Down to the Dirt
Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Down to the dirt by Joel Thomas Hynes Down to the Dirt. Hugely funny to begin with as Keith and his friends relate one escapade after another but as events become more serious so the story becomes much darker. This is a searing account of a teenager fighting fate and his own nature. Embarrassed and pissed off as I am, I decides not to say one more word. That gets 'em every time. That's the best way to deal with the cops. Just shut the fuck up. You're better off. Plus it drives 'em off the head. They can't stand it. Believe me, there's nothing they loves more than playin' head games and puttin' words in your mouth and lettin' you dig yourself into a hole. It's the RCMP for fuck sakes. They got nothing better to do. ISBN 13: 9780863224300. This debut novel from Canada, violently thrust into the space between Trainspotting and the writings of J.T. Leroy, features hard-edged protagonist Keith Kavanagh. With gritty accounts of sexual depravity, pyromania, substance abuse, and the botched mercy killing of poisoned cat, this dark and comic novel charts the escapades of Kavanagh from his early teens, coming of age in small-town Newfoundland, to his early twenties wandering the streets of Halifax in a demented, drunken hunt for his estranged girlfriend. Keith Kavanagh lost his virginity at 13 to a woman twice his age, and met his girlfriend while pissing on the hood of her father's truck. He may have burned down the North Side of the Cove, his Newfoundland outpost hometown, but not even his best friend knows for sure. -
DOWN to the DIRT Based on the Novel by Joel Thomas Hynes

And to everyone else, except Natasha (Mylène Savoie). Their relationship - turbulent, raw and funny - becomes the catalyst for loss, joy and self-discovery. Log Line B: A darkly humorous chronicle of one man’s improbable redemption. Short Synopsis: Down to the Dirt is a visceral, darkly humorous chronicle of the transformative power of love, and the improbable roads that lead to redemption. Thirty-year- old Keith Kavanagh (Joel Thomas Hynes) ekes his way through life in a small town. A hard-drinking hooligan, he keeps his ragged collection of poetry a closely guarded secret… as secret as his regret for the shattered relationship with his father. When Keith meets the darkly exotic Natasha (Mylène Savoie), his life is changed forever. Scary, sexy, and funny -- and sometimes all three at once – Down to the Dirt is a raw and poignant adaptation of the internationally acclaimed novel. Long Synopsis: Down to the Dirt is a darkly humorous chronicle of one man’s improbable redemption. -
