Featured Business: Red Gum Creative Campus: Innovation in Anaheim Canyon Anaheim Canyon is home to innovative companies that provide services ranging from healthcare and manufacturing to the filming studios offered at Red Gum Creative Campus. Red Gum boasts unique and customizable filming studios, used for food and hospitality, automotive and fashion media campaigns. Longtime advertising photographer Don Dormeyer founded Red Gum Creative Campus with the hopes of making an accessible and unique studio space for production companies. Dormeyer shares his path to establishing this unique filming campus. After having successful studios in New York, he was on the search for a new location that could offer flexible filming studios for his clients and elevate the company’s brand. Dormeyer was pleased to find these offerings and more in Anaheim. “Anaheim is centrally located which provides us with a competitive advantage we can pass on to our clients ranging from Kia, Del Taco, Kawasaki and Porsche,” Dormeyer said. "We appreciate that Anaheim has its own public utility as well. Having power that is consistent and affordable is critical for a filming studio. We never have to worry about brownouts or blackouts delaying any shoots," Dormeyer said. Dormeyer constructed his studios concept with client efficiency in mind. He built the campus with a focus on the creative aspects of the client’s need, whether filming action scenes or capturing underwater photography. Having these spaces catered to his clients allows for streamlined production, lower costs and better project outcomes. A specialized feature of the creative campus is the in-floor automotive turntable centered in a seamless white space to display all angles of the vehicle and allow the advertiser to bring their vision and branding to life on one stage. Additional features include a 14-foot window with a cathedral arch to provide optimal natural light for photography, a wet studio with a swimming pool for underwater filming and photography and various backgrounds to set the scene for different types of production. Beyond filming, its site has been used for educational events, market research studies, product launch and weddings. Red Gum Creative Campus is at 2983 Miraloma Ave. Click here to learn more.
