14Th Decembre Bleekemolen and Ceccon Bring Class to EGT Drivers BLEEKEMOLEN AND CECCON BRING CLASS TO EGT DRIVERS’ CLUB The Electric GT Championship, the world’s first 100% zero-emissions GT championship, is delighted to welcome Jeroen Bleekemolen and Kevin Ceccon into the EGT Drivers’ Club. Sportscar racing ace Bleekemolen and GP2 graduate Ceccon are firm supporters of the series’ core values of integrity and environmental responsibility and bring a combined 25 years of professional expertise to the championship, which will launch in 2017. They join Stefan Wilson, Vicky Piria, Dani Clos, Leilani Munter, Tom Coronel, Alice Powell, Tom Onslow-Cole and Ricardo Teixeira in the ever-growing EGT Drivers’ Club, from which an eventual 20 drivers will be chosen to race the all-new Tesla Model S P100D. Bleekemolen (@jbleekemolen), 35, from Heemstede in the Netherlands, is one of the busiest racing drivers on the planet, having competed six 24 hour races on three continents in 2016. The decorated Dutchman’s stellar record includes victories in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Le Mans 24 Hours, Petit Le Mans, Sebring 12 Hours, back-to-back Porsche Supercup championships and the 2013 American Le Mans Series GTC title. Bleekemolen represented Opel in the DTM for two years, and also raced single-seaters with distinction, winning two rounds of the A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport. He becomes the second Dutchman to join the series after Coronel, reuniting the pair for the first time since they shared a GT2 Spyker at Le Mans in 2010. Bleekemolen said: “Since I first heard about the EGT championship, I followed it closely. It is a very exciting opportunity for a racing driver to be involved in. Electric racing is going to be big and I can't wait to get some seat time in the EGT car.” Ceccon (@KevinCeccon), 23, from Clusone, Italy, is a highly-rated single-seater graduate, born just an hour’s drive to the east of Monza. A champion of the Auto GP series in 2011, beating future F1 driver Rio Haryanto, Ceccon won twice in three seasons of GP3 and earned an opportunity to test with Toro Rosso at Abu Dhabi in 2011. Ceccon said: “I'm really happy to be part of the EGT Drivers’ Club, I look forward to joining the series and seeing how it develops. I’m excited to drive the Tesla and hopefully will have the chance to test it soon. From my point of view electric cars are the future, so let's start with the Age of Light!” Electric GT Championship CEO Mark Gemmell added: “I am delighted to welcome Jeroen and Kevin to the Electric GT Drivers’ Club. They both come with excellent CVs and will be a real asset to the championship as we build towards the start of the championship in 2017.” The EGT Championship will consist of 20 international drivers, both male and female, racing for 10 professional teams in identical Tesla Model S machines equipped with the latest OMP safety equipment and running on bespoke Pirelli tyres. EGT will visit seven classic European circuits in its inaugural season, including Paul Ricard, Barcelona, Assen, Estoril and the Nürburgring, before staging three non-championship races in the Americas. About Electric GT Championship – New zero-emissions motorsport category promoting sustainable mobility The championship was announced on 9 March 2016, with the Tesla P100D chosen for the first season, which will get underway in 2017. There will be 10 teams and 20 drivers, who will compete across seven races during season one. Weekends will consist of a 20-minute practice session, 60-minute qualifying, a day race (60km) and a dusk race (60km). Each round will be a weekend-long festival of technology and innovation for sustainability, in and around the circuits. Fans will be able to stream races via Periscope, Twitch and YouTube, as well as interact directly with the teams using social media platforms. ENDS. • Michelin Helps Imsa Deliver Fast, Close Racing at the Glen
PRESS INFORMATION MICHELIN HELPS IMSA DELIVER FAST, CLOSE RACING AT THE GLEN Mazda, Porsche, Acura Prevail in “Cool” Watkins Glen Watkins Glen, N.Y., June 30, 2019 --- Michelin marked the midpoint of its first season as the Official Tire of IMSA as it has since the outset, by working closely with manufacturers, teams and drivers to help them deliver incredibly close competition and another batch of new records. The combined margin of victory in the three premier IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship classes was just 1.48 seconds after six hours of racing at the historic 3.4-mile Watkins Glen International circuit. While last year Michelin recorded track temperatures in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, the highest of the season, this year cooler temperatures prevailed. A weekend of extremes in temperatures, which reached 117 on Friday eventually ceded to a cool race day at the smooth, fast, high energy, high-load circuit where the race day track temperature topped out at 82 degrees. The weekend also saw a popular new overall winner with Mazda Team Joest scoring a long overdue maiden DPi victory. Learning and Growing Into Second Half of 2019 To kick off the second half of the season, Michelin brought its semi-confidential IMSA Hard compound tire for its debut in DPi/LMP2, the top two classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Meanwhile the WeatherTech GT Daytona and IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge GS class cars raced with the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport GT S9M hard compound commercial slicks for the first time in 2019. The hard compound tire is tuned specifically for circuits where drivers traditionally encounter the highest loads and track temperatures of the season.

  • Press Release May 29, 2011 No
Press Release May 29, 2011 No. M 43/11 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, round 3 at the Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo/Monaco René Rast hits the jackpot in the Principality Stuttgart. When the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup took off into the most prestigious race of the year in Monte Carlo, the world-famous Casino was still closed. But still René Rast found his luck. In the picture postcard setting of the Principality on the Cote d’Azur, the German won round three of the world’s fastest international one-make series on Sunday at the wheel of VELTINS Lechner Racing’s 911 GT3 Cup. With this, he repeated his triumph of last year. The race in the glamour world of the rich and beautiful is a unique challenge. The narrow street circuit is unforgiving of mistakes. Run-off zones are virtually non- existent, instead there are walls and crash barriers. Full concentration is needed from start to finish – this is the only way to get through the twisty labyrinth between luxury apartment blocks and high class boutiques safely. To finish the 16 laps sticking to the ideal line is gruelling work. Drivers change gears 34 times per lap, that’s about every 2.8 seconds. Ex-Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet once compared driving through the maze of streets to “flying a helicopter in the living room”. No one is im- mune to the fascination of this race. Driving in Monaco, say the pilots unanimously, is a fabulous experience. To win in Monaco is a dream. On Sunday, René Rast fulfilled this dream for the second straight time.

IN TOUCH THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE OF DUNLOP MOTORSPORT [ www.injection.tv ] LE MANS RACE EDITION Dunlop came away from the Le Mans 24 hours delighted with the performance of its dry and light wet tyres after a difficult race in which the changing condi- tions contributed to the overall result. “We were pretty competitive in all conditions other than full wet conditions,” says Dunlop’s chief tyre technician Matthew Simpson of the LMP2 tyres. “On the slick tyres and the light wet tyres, we had a performance advantage, but in full wet conditions we struggled to get temperature into our compounds. The Essex car had engine trouble so we were never going to do better than we did, but we have to look at the tyre perform- ance in wet conditions and make it better. “The Virgo Ferrari team were very strong and our development construction at the rear allowed us to double stint safely. There was no sign of difficulty in doing so, and there was zero deterioration from the first lap to the last in a double stint, according to the drivers. Le Mans podiums for Essex Perhaps we could have triple stinted, but we didn’t test that before the race and during the race was not the time to try. Porsche and Farnbacher Ferrari “The Creation team had four punctures and three of them were caused by debris. There was not enough left of the tyre to establish the cause of the fourth.” The 2008 edition of the Le Mans 24 hours produced was difficult to drive because sometimes the power was everything from a record breaking qualifying and race there, other times it wasn’t and we couldn’t know what to John Nielsen, Casper Elgaard and Sascha Maassen pace, a record crowd of 258,500 turning out in eager expect.

  • Press Release October 6, 2019
Press Release October 6, 2019 Race GTE, World Endurance Championship WEC, round 2 at Fuji/Japan Porsche defends world championship lead with podium result in Japan Stuttgart. Porsche has successfully defended its lead in the world championship at round two of FIA World Endurance Championship. At the six-hour race in Fuji (Japan), Denmark’s Michael Christensen and the Frenchman Kévin Estre finished in second place with the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR. At the same time, the world champions moved into the lead of the drivers’ championship. Their factory driver colleagues Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) and Richard Lietz (Austria), who won the season-opening round at Silver- stone (Great Britain), saw the chequered flag in sixth place. In the GTE-Am class, the Porsche customer team from Germany, Project 1, finished on third place. Christensen and Estre launched an impressive charge through the field in the race at the foot of Mount Fuji. Thanks to fast lap times and the team’s clever strategic deci- sions, the ca. 515 hp 911 RSR, which is based on the high-performance Porsche 911 GT3 RS* road-going sports car, worked its way up the order from the last grid spot. When rain set in after the first third of the race, the Porsche GT Team opted for the best tyre choice, and completed the pit stops at the right time during the caution phases. The Silverstone winners, Lietz and Bruni, had less luck in the number 91 sister car. A puncture, a drive-through penalty and ongoing misfiring problems relegated the polesitters down the field to sixth place.
