Food and Drink Photo Credit © Northern Ireland Tourist Board The food offering of a destination motivates people to travel there. People increasingly are influenced to visit a town or region to enjoy the food that it offers. The creative use of fresh local produce, enticingly presented online will sell the destination to a prospective visitor. Food motivators include the quality and diversity of the food offering, award winning local produce, similarly nationally recognised culinary skills and restaurants mean that NI can hold its head up with pride. While food and restaurant dining were once synonymous, thanks to a growing and entrepreneurial team of creative food tours, a range of tempting dishes can be enjoyed across a number of eateries. Tours may also include visits to farms, food producers, local markets and sea fishing trips. Taste Causeway Taste Causeway is a collaborative network of local food and tourism businesses and key stakeholders, funded by Invest NI and Causeway Coast and Glens (CCAG) Borough Council. The three year development programme commenced in January 2019. This will provide a one stop shop for all training and business support with information relevant to the food and drink sector via a digital platform. The first phase of the digital platform has gone live click here. The launch and rollout of the Taste Causeway Brand, a consumer focused digital marketing campaign and the development of bookable food experiences are also key elements of the project.
