Defensively, he recorded 203 tackles in his senior season, 97 of them solo and 55 of them for a loss. In addition, he racked up 10 sacks and forced 14 fumbles, one of which he returned 75 yards for a touchdown in Loveland’s 50-0 state semifinal victory. Jeff capped off his high school career by leading Loveland High School to the Colorado 4A state championship, the school’s sixth overall and its second during his four years on the varsity. “Jeff is the rare individual who can absolutely dominate the game as a lineman.

  • Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook, C Rodney Hudson and G/T Kelechi Osemele Have Been Named 2019 Pro Bowl Alternates, the NFL Announced Tuesday
Dec. 18, 2018 For Immediate Release Three Raiders Named Pro Bowl Alternates ALAMEDA, Calif. – Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook, C Rodney Hudson and G/T Kelechi Osemele have been named 2019 Pro Bowl alternates, the NFL announced Tuesday. Cook has been named an alternate after setting career highs in nearly every major statistical category this season, including receptions (63), receiving yards (848) and touchdowns (six), each of which lead the Silver and Black in 2018. Cook has tallied four 100-yard contests on the season, tied for second-most among all tight ends in the NFL en route to the most receiving yards by a Raiders tight end since 1986. Among many of his highlights was his 180-yard Week 1 performance on Monday Night Football. On his record-setting night, Cook set the franchise’s single-game mark by a tight end, surpassing Todd Christensen’s 173 yards in 1986, as it also tied for the sixth-most single-game receiving yardage by a tight end in NFL history. Additionally, his 15 receptions of at least 20 yards ranks third among his position group both this season and in club history with two games yet to play. Also named as alternates to the annual All-Star game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 27, 2019, were offensive linemen Hudson and Osemele. Hudson and Osemele, both two-time selections from 2016-17, anchor an offensive line that has assisted in many of QB Derek Carr’s achievements this season. Carr set a franchise record in Week 15 when passing Rich Gannon’s mark of 277 consecutive passes without throwing an interception, and currently stands with the longest active streak in the NFL at 299 attempts.

OFFENSE RULES THE FIRST: The 2020 NFL Draft featured 18 offensive players selected in the first round, tied for the fourth-most in the common draft era, trailing only the 1968, 2004 and 2009 NFL Drafts (19). HEISMANS GO FIRST: The Cincinnati Bengals selected Heisman-winning quarterback JOE BURROW with the first-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Along with the first-overall selections of KYLER MURRAY (Arizona, 2019) and BAKER MAYFIELD (Cleveland, 2018), it marks the first time in the common draft era that a Heisman winner was chosen with the No. 1 pick in three consecutive NFL Drafts. With his selection at No. 1, Burrow joins CAM NEWTON (Carolina, 2011) as the only quarterbacks to win the Heisman Trophy, National Championship and be selected with the first-overall pick in the same calendar year in the common draft era. BUCKEYES AT THE TOP: Washington selected Ohio State defensive end CHASE YOUNG with the second-overall pick while Detroit picked Ohio State defensive back JEFF OKUDAH third-overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Along with the selections of DENZEL WARD (Cleveland, No. 4 overall in 2018) and NICK BOSA (San Francisco, No. 2 in 2019), Ohio State becomes the first school to have a defensive player selected in the top-five in three consecutive Drafts in the common draft era. Young and Okudah are the first pair of college teammates to be chosen with consecutive top-three selections since the 2000 NFL Draft, when Penn State saw COURTNEY BROWN (Cleveland, No.

University of Nevada, Reno Quarterback Value Forecasting and Fixing the NFL Draft’s Market Failure A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Economics by Trevor M. Wojcik Dr. Mark Nichols/Thesis Advisor December, 2010 THE GRADUATE SCHOOL We recommend that the thesis prepared under our supervision by TREVOR MICHAEL WOJCIK entitled Quarterback Value Forecasting And Fixing The NFL Draft’s Market Failure be accepted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF ARTS Mark Nichols, Phd, Advisor Sankar Mukhopadhyay, Phd, Committee Member Rahul Bhargava, Phd, Graduate School Representative Marsha H. Read, Ph. D., Associate Dean, Graduate School December, 2010 i Abstract The National Football League (NFL) is a business that is worth nearly $7 billion annually in revenue. That makes it the largest money making sport in the United States. The revenue earned by each franchise is dependent upon the repeated success of the team. A commonly held belief is that for a franchise to be successful you must have an elite Quarterback. This thesis uses NFL data and for the 2000-2008 seasons to determine the role that Quarterback performance plays in team success. With the determination that Quarterbacks are important to NFL team success the question becomes how does a franchise effectively obtain the best player. The NFL player draft is the most commonly used method for teams to find their Quarterback of the future. The problem is that the success rate for drafting Quarterbacks is very low. In this thesis I have determined a more statistical approach to determining whether a drafted Quarterback will be successful.

CHAPTER 1 Introduction This Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been prepared pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines to analyze potential physical environmental impacts of the proposed Oakland Waterfront Ballpark District Project (referred to in this EIR as “Project”).1 A brief overview of the Project and the environmental review process, and a description of the purpose of this Draft EIR and opportunities for public comment, are provided below, along with an explanation of how this Draft EIR is organized. 1.1 Project Overview The Oakland Athletics Investment Group, LLC (referred to in this EIR as “Oakland A’s” or “Project sponsor”) is proposing to acquire the rights to develop a site known as the Charles P. Howard Terminal (Howard Terminal) on the Oakland waterfront from the Port of Oakland (Port); acquire the rights to adjacent properties from private owners; and construct a new Major League Baseball (MLB) ballpark, as well as residential, entertainment, office, hotel, and retail (mixed- use) development, creating a new Oakland Waterfront Ballpark District. The proposed Project would be constructed in phases as described below and consistent with the site plan and street grid provided in Chapter 3, Project Description, of this Draft EIR. The Project site proposed for development of the new ballpark district includes the Howard Terminal and certain adjacent properties totaling approximately 55 acres. The Project site is located on the Oakland waterfront, north of and across the Oakland-Alameda Estuary from the City of Alameda. A location map and aerial photographs of the Project site and the surrounding vicinity are provided in Chapter 3.
