This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun, fast-paced and busy marketing and communications team as a Communications & Sustainability Intern. You will have the opportunity to put your learning into real life practice where your core responsibilities will be to support the team in delivering communication, sustainability and sponsorship campaigns. Such as the WellFest Summer Tour, Corporate Charity Partnership Programme, ‘A Greener Way’ Programme, Employee Engagement Campaigns, Internal Communication Campaigns to name a few. Your role will help you to develop your core competencies and by working on an award winning team you’ll get exposure, knowledge and understanding of the other areas of the department - such as digital media, social media, event management, brand management, customer contact, leads management, public relations, content management, research and insights. Essential Duties Internal Communications KBC Bank Ireland is an equal opportunities employer This job specification is subject to continuous review and update and may be changed from time to time in line with business requirements. • Key support to the Internal Communications And Sustainability Advisor to execute internal communications projects and campaigns, sustainability projects and campaigns, activate internal sponsorship campaigns, organise events (coordinating with suppliers, venues, preparing content, etc.) • Assist in the management of the company intranet (iHUB), provide support to other areas of the business in terms of training, content upload, administration of new users, responding to business area queries, management of news section, updating policies and procedures where required, etc. • Assist in the build and delivery of the company-wide newsletter (The Download), draft clear and concise articles in our TOV, manage business area submissions, respond to staff queries, support Sports & Social communications, manage internal competitions, etc. • Assist and support the Internal Communications And Sustainability Advisor in the delivery of ad hoc projects, campaigns or other support where required as required by your line manager or the Director of Communications and Marketing. Sustainability Assist and support the Sustainability Advisor in the delivery of our 2020 Charity Corporate Partnership through event management, communications, content management, etc. Assist and support the Sustainability Advisor to deliver volunteering opportunities for employees across all locations. Assist and support the Sustainability Advisor to deliver ‘A Greener Way’ Programme through event management, communications, content management, etc. Sponsorship Assist and support KBC sponsorships in the delivery of Wellfest 2020, the WellFest Summer Tour, KBC Dublin Marathon, etc., through event management, communications, content management, etc. Administration Support Provide administrative support to the Communications & Marketing Department where required. Please note the above duties are not exhaustive and a level of flexibility is required in this role. Person Specification Knowledge, Education & Experience: Working towards a Marketing, Communications, Sustainability or CSR, Public Relations, Journalism qualification is desirable, but not essential. Essential Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to deal with all levels in a confident and professional manner. Ability to create compelling content in copy, video or visual format. Strong relationship management skills. Confident working in a fast paced business environment. Must have a flexible approach to work (some weekend work may be required) Excellent attention to detail required and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Strong computer skills with intermediate proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint.
